Sense8 Season Two...

Anyone started watching? A couple of episodes in and I have to say it’s improved quite a bit - better writing, more tightly plotted. I’m still not big on the new Capheus, but he’s not ruining it for me or anything. The “Who Am I” speech in episode one was good. Like any Wachowski project, it’s still visually interesting. And I’m guessing Jean Claude complained, as now the subtitles all misspell Van Damme as Van Damn, which is silly on a couple of levels.

I’m curious what’s up with Sun’s brother. Her entire situation came about because he’s a moron, so I can’t see him behind these ruthless, intelligent moves against her. I’m betting someone has grabbed power from him and that person knows she’s the real threat.

Canceled: ‘Sense8’ Canceled By Netflix After 2 Seasons – Deadline

Bummer. Though I think the Wachowski’s got way too self-indulgent with the celebration scenes and musical montages this season, I liked where they were taking the story. I especially liked the arcs involving Sun and Wolfgang.

We’re watching - it is interesting in a lot of ways and we’re enjoying it overall - I think we have 3 eps to go (we binged season1 last week).

epbrown01 new Capheus? (don’t recognize the name…) what did I miss or it must not have bothered me either.

eta - nevermind - the driver - I wondered why he seemed so much bigger this season!

I found it intensely boring. Is it me or most of season 2 was about them hanging around and getting laid? And the few plots with some sort of action made no sense… what did the Berlin Sense8 femme fatale even want? How easy it is to escape from a South Korean prison? What was Capheus even running for? Major of Nairobi? President of Kenya? What happened to all the dangling threads from season 1 and the big Conspiracy?

I guess we’ll never know, since Netflix announced there will be no season 3.

It’s cancelled, by the way.

Waaaahhhhhhhh! This was the most cerebral of shows. I knew it wouldn’t resonate with everybody, but I was hoping there were enough clicks to keep it going.

Maybe JMS will write up the rest in novel form.

Lila wanted Wolfgang to take over the Berlin criminal underworld so they could make Berlin a haven for sensates, and turned on him when he refused. Remember that Sun was helped by the fact that Nomi and crew were hacking the security, and it had already been breached by guards there to kill her. Cadpheus was running for councilman of his village, apparently not far outside Nairobi.

They seemed to be addressing all the Season 1 plotlines just fine to me - they went deeper into BPO and Whisper’s role in it, we saw how BPO was created and corrupted, some early Jonah and Angelica, and learned that there are lots more sensates. Which leads to my big gripe: that everyone else just scampered and cowered whenever Whispers/The Cannibal poked his head out. Seriously?

And is it me or did they seriously take Jonah and Whispers and leave Wolfgang?

Good news, though – there will be a series finale.
