Well, I still haven’t figured out what I will write to start the next MMP, and as lazy as I am, there’s better than an even chance that it’ll be winged anyway.
For that matter, if I had the MMPers over for dinner, I’d have a hog roast. A roast hog is like a work of art, and it take time to get both perfect. Need I remind y’all of the dangers of underdone pork?

C’mon, now, give Bobbio a break! He’s taking on the monumental task of writing a witty, brilliant, insightful MMP. That might take a couple of days, and if he doesn’t start today, we won’t have an MMP at all. It might be a TMP, and then where would we be? We’d be bored all day Monday, because there’s no MMP, and we’d have no excuse for slacking off at work.
I keep my columbarium in the kitchen cabinet over the stove. Oh, wait, that’s the colander. I get those two confused all the time.
I’m off to the music festival! I should leave now, because good things are happening at 3, but I just had lunch, so I need to wait until I’m not feeling so full. It’s not good to walk in the hot sun with a full stomach. I might sit here and watch Jacques Pepin for a little while.
Are there any updates on all of our sick friends? Is everyone doing okay? I’m a little bit behind on sending healing vibes and stuff, but I hope everyone’s well.

I’m still around, just been kind of busy playing catch-up on everything I got even behinder on while I was recovering from surgery. I got my pathology results back and my growth was simply a hyperplastic epithelial thingamagig from chronic irritation. Which I kind of already knew because I was sure it was from my molar rubbing against my tongue all these years and I wasn’t too worried about that until various medical people started waving the “C” word around.
Anyway, either due to fall approaching and a slight breeze in the air (that’s fall in Florida) or the “reevaluating your life after a health scare” thingy I am feeling creative. I want to work on all sorts of home improvement and crafty type projects however I do not have enough knowledge or skills for some of them. I was thinking of starting an IMHO thread to see what kind of other crafts dopers indulge in but what I’d really like is some kind of ideas/tips/helpful hints exchange thread but I guess that’s too broad a subject for one thread and I’d have to be more specific on the craft project.
What I am interested in learning about is woodworking. I have some ideas on making a few things, one of which is a cat tree/play area. There’s some plans I found online but I’d like to modify them a bit. I do know basics of using drills but I have no idea about all the different saws and what saws are best for what. I am not looking to make fancy furniture, just something sturdy.
I also have a thing for papier mache but I haven’t finished any of my projects. Partly because I get tired of waiting for it to dry and partly because I have to hide stuff so the cats don’t nibble on it and out of sight is out of mind. I have a pumpkin I started a few years ago and I keep not finishing it and putting it away until next year. It started out as a solid pumpkin but I ended up hallowing it out one year. This year I’d like to finish it before Halloween. I really don’t have a lot to do. I need to find some flame retardant coating for the inside as I intend to put lights in it (x-mas lights, not candles). I recently bought a dremel and I think that will help me “carve” the jack 0’lantern face. Then I just need to paint and put some other finishing coatings on it.
Hmm … I was just thinking and it might be cool to make a really huge pumpkin. I’ve got chicken wire and newspaper for papier mache is easy to come by, heck I could make a whole family of pumpkins! … somebody stop me.
Heh, I didn’t want to point it out… I just wanted to see how long it would take for someone to notice.
I don’t know how you guys will shorten it. donkeybear is kinda unwieldy. Let’s see what we can do by looking at other people’s names.

Why are weekends so short??? It was just Friday night and now it’s Sunday and there’s work again tomorrow and I should have done work tonight but I was too tired and I feel like I haven’t stopped moving since about 6 this morning and…
My brother ran in a 20-mile race this morning. I am extremely loyal and watched the start, went to have breakfast, came back and watched other racers finish, watched brother finish and then ran off to my next social obligation. He didn’t run quite as quickly as he wanted, but he’s been sick this week, so I thought it was good that he was close. (For the record, I thought he was nuts to be running, but that’s another story.)
I flitted about all day and finally made it home around 8 p.m. Had Cheerios for dinner, ran the dishwasher, and now I’m off to bed.
So do you suppose that **Bob ** will post nice and early so that I can read the MMP before I go to work…?

Big News (which will get repeated tomorrow for swampy, who will probably not read this tonight):
I found out the identity of my stalker. Turns out that he’s a guy that I’ve seen around, but never knew his name. I don’t think that there’ll be a big relationship progressing from it, but he apparently wishes to talk to me about his experiences about being in the closet. I’m going to go stencil fake blood onto my face in order to make myself look less attractive to him.
And get some of the Hallowe’een makeup you can make horrible fake scars with. That should discourage him.
Work was loooonnng and boring. I don’t want to have to go back for eight hours tomorrow. I’ve only had one day off at a time for four weeks! I’m cranky! Someone give me chocolate!
Hey Wile E! I’m glad your tongue is okay. Just a warning–if you start with the crafty stuff, it takes over your life. But it’s fun! I’m working on a bunch of projects (mostly sewing, but sometimes I’ll branch out and do something different, so I know a little bit about lots of different things). I want to do papier mache, so maybe you can give me some tips. I think FairyChatMom could give you advice on woodworking.
It’s been a busy day today. I went to the music festival, and it was lots of fun. I got an ice cream sundae, which turned out to be much larger than I thought it would be, and I ate the whole thing. :eek: But it was dinnertime, and I hadn’t eaten anything else, and I walked around all afternoon, so I needed the energy, right? So now I’m boiling some eggs to make tuna salad for lunch tomorrow, and I need to wash dishes and do yoga. I can’t believe Sunday is almost over!
Bobbio, I’m impatiently waiting for tomorrow’s shiny, brand-spanking-new MMP!
