We enjoyed it. It kinda started out as a mystery but soon shifted gears into a psychological character study set in a transformative time in NYC (gentrification, homelessness, corrupt police, AIDS, municipal disfunction) If you like shows about New Yorkers acting like New Yorkers, this might be for you.
I finished watching the UK series Ghosts. I thought it was very charming, a good combination of funny and touching. I was a little surprised that there wasn’t more closure for the ghosts in the final season, but the ending was nice.
I’ve been trying to watch the last season of UK Ghosts for months. Am I right that CBS is blocking it’s availability in the US until they get a chance to air it?
It looks like Apple TV streaming (with a free trial)–or buy it at Amazon or VUDU.
Yet another reason I’m eventually going to break down and subscribe to Apple TV+ eventually. I was able to watch the first four seasons somewhere, but apparently this is the only way I’ll be able to watch the fifth season.
Thanks! We have Apple TV. Must be buried deep in the menu.
I have an Apple+ subscription already…but it looks like they want $14.95 to view Season 5. Harrumph.
I watched it on CBC Gem (in Canada). Free, but with an irritating number of commercials.
Just started A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder starring Wednesday Addams’ werewolf roommate. Kind of disorienting to hear her with a heavy British accent.
I am once again re-watching Doctor-X which is a Japanese drama (ドクターX〜外科医・大門未知子〜). It has 7 seasons the last one coming out in 2021. The main character is a brilliant surgeon in the vein of Dr House who doesn’t much care about the bureaucracy that she has to deal with.
I really enjoy the interaction between all the characters as well as the fact that they show illustrations of the surgical procedures that they are doing. Of course, a lot of the medical language passes over my head, but that is not the crux of the series anyway. Every time I watch I think that I won’t enjoy it as much, but there are always moments that make me remember why I like it so much.

Season 6 of Cobra Kai starts up this month, for those who watch it. It’s dopey and hokey, and full of really bad karate, but still not a bad series for all that.
It’s cheesier than a quattro formaggio pizza with extra cheese, but enjoyable nonetheless!
Currently enjoying the latest season of DI Ray and Professor T both on PBS. I’m enjoying both, but hate the way they release each new episode on Mondays. I’d rather binge the season. But highly recommend.
Still hanging in there with Lethal Weapon. I’m particularly amused by how Murtaugh’s car keeps regenerating itself after being nearly destroyed.
I’ve watched 4 episodes from the first season of Stath Lets Flats (about an arrogant incompetent idiot working for his father’s apartment rental agency) and so far it’s hilarious; watching incompetent characters fail in their plans is right down my alley in terms of humour.
I’ve recently watched What We Do In The Shadows, Ghosts (UK), and part of The Afterparty, so I’m seeing a lot of familiar faces.
Is that on the Beebs or can we get it here in the US of A?
I’m watching it on CBC Gem in Canada (same as I did with Ghosts).
I see now that it’s on Britbox!
Me, too. I just wish she’d smile, like, once maybe. I so love the original Belgian Professor T that I couldn’t get into the UK version, even though I usually really like Ben Miller and Frances de la Tour. My sister watches, though, and says she just pretends it’s a completely different show.
The Inspector Lynley Mysteries have gotten so stupid lately. I’m just watching for Sharon Small, whom I love.
Yeah, there does not seem to be a way to watch seasons 3-5 in the US without paying. I just ended up resorting to buying them from Amazon.
I also just recently finished watching it. Well almost. I’ve watched all the regular episodes, but I have yet to watch the Christmas episode at the end.
That’s assuming CBS plans on airing them at all. The only reason they aired the first two seasons in the first place was because they needed content to air during the writers/actors strikes. Now that the strikes have been resolved, they don’t need it anymore. The episodes appeared on Paramount+ as CBS aired them, but the last time I checked Paramount+ stated “all episodes now streaming”, which to me implies they don’t plan on airing any more.
