That’s hilarious.
I assume you have, but if you haven’t, make sure to check out the ‘bloopers’ where you get to see all the banter that gets cut out.
IIRC, the current season just ended and I liked it more than I thought I would. There’s a few contestants that I thought would get on my nerves but didn’t (or at least not as much as I thought they would).
Also, and I know I said this about a few other contestants (cough Lucy Beaumont cough), but Maisie, my god, she really doesn’t know WTF is going on, does she? Like, just in general, she just seems lost. I will note, however, that this is the ONLY think I know her from. I’ve since spotted her on some panel shows that everyone else is on, but if I saw any of those clips before this season, I don’t remember her from them. And I was floored when I found out she’s 31. I honestly assumed she was closer to 50, but I think the haircut has something to do with it.
The Diplomat. Season 3. The circumstances around which the plot revolved were interesting enough, but much too much soap opera slowing it all down. And it could have been a tight six episodes instead of eight had the characters spent a whole lot less time humping in the midst of a world crisis.
How about David Baddiel ‘drawing’ on Ed Gamble’s back? Ed really channeled his inner James Acaster with how angry he got.
Edit: or Jessica Knappett falling off the stage.
He’s done quite a bit of TV series work, and I’ve also seen him before but can’t nail it down as to where.
… and his wife is played by Richard Burton’s daughter.
I mostly remember him from Popeye (and seeing him live at The Big Apple Circus).
When I see Bill Irwin I think of the TV show “Legion”.
Big Bill Irwin fanboy here, going back to “Popeye” and “The Regard of Flight” in the 1980s. He’s a freaking genius. There’s a scene with him escaping a room in S3 of “Legion” that is pure ballet.
Also, he’s Mister Noodle on Sesame Street (not to be confused with the late Michael Jeter who played Mister Noodle’s brother Mister Noodle).
I’ll put this here. The Star Trek episode “Specter of the Gun” is on tonight, meanwhile on Grit they are showing “Gunfight at the OK Corral”.
Brian
Yeah, The Regard of Flight is the first time I ever saw him, and I fell in love.
He had a bit part in that mafia movie Steve Martin did, but he wasn’t used to his full advantage.
Popeye is to me, an underrated film.
I saw The Regard of Flight live on stage at least twice, and instantly became a huge fan. I later saw his other stage shows, Largely New York and Fool Moon.
He is such a unique genius* that, as @carrps notes, he is rarely used well in conventional entertainments. He needs his own vehicle to create his own world.
*Not merely my opinion. He was the first performing artist to win a MacArthur “genius” grant.
I watched Season 1 of The Thaw on Max. It’s a detective series created and set in Poland. It was okay, but not great.
Season 2 is also available, but I probably won’t watch it.
Restarting The Boys since the final season is coming.
A pretty solid pilot episode, to be honest. I hadn’t seen it since it first came out. I was surprised how absolutely little Homelander is in the first episode. Anthony Starr’s portrayel of Homelander is one of the best on TV. He’s only in the pilot for 5(ish) minutes or so.

A scene from episode 3 was shot outside the building I worked in (during business hours). It was pretty cool watching them shoot it, but I wasn’t sure what show was going to feature an off-brand Superman and an off-brand Wonder Woman.
Task (HBO). Enjoyable police hunt and chase drama starring Mark Ruffalo. I thought the man who played Perry was excellent, he looked…as Inna noted… demonic. Recommended.
Ripley (Netflix). We were split on this one. Inna found it compelling, I found it a little too slow-paced for my liking, and the entire plot hinged on people not asking the right questions (nor even the obvious follow-up question).
However, one of the most beautifully-shot and lit series (or even movies) that I’ve experienced. Recommended despite my reservations.
Task is renewed for Season 2
I bought Season1 of Remington Steele for $9.99 on Prime. Very affordable for 22 episodes.
I was a fan of the show in the early 80’s. I haven’t seen it offered on Streaming. Season 1 is my favorite because Steele is a bumbling amateur and his assistant Laura Holt is the real investigator. She’s actually the owner of the company. Steele is supposed to be the public figure head.
Steele gets smarter and more involved in season 2. I’ll probably buy S2 if the price is under $12.
Remington Steele jumped the shark in season 5. Pierce Brosnan was angry that production wouldn’t let him star in a Bond film.

Mrs. Mahaloth and I liked this one quite a bit. A massive suspension of disbelief, but the final shot when the detective opens the book and looks at the dedication/picture…perfect!
