Lol, Fargo isn’t available on the Disney+ version of Hulu. I feel robbed.
Blue Lights is good, if you haven’t seen it.
Finally, after three freaking years, new installments of Stranger Things.
My wife and I started Absentia because she likes dark, twisty shows.
Every main character in this show is an idiot. We’re 4 episodes in and there have already been an infinite number of things that could have gotten everyone fired. I can’t believe this show went for 3 seasons!!
Same problem for me. My partner, who rates it more highly than I do and remembers more stuff, is also struggling with what and why things are happening, even after possibly the longest series recap I’ve ever seen before the first episode.
The production values are obviously (and understandably) very high and it all looks great, has that typical 80s nostalgic feel and so on but once again despite largely enjoying it I am slightly underwhelmed compared to the ridiculously OTT following the show has. Some of the dialogue just feels cheesy and over emphasised, and the acting whilst generally good can be a bit scenery chewing at times (11’s facial expressions are comedy gold).
That being said, it’s still well worth watching and we did all 4 episodes they released this weekend, which must be about 5 hours’ worth. The climax to the fourth episode was pretty spectacular I must admit. Although it does very much have that ‘plot armour’ feel to it at this stage, where I just cannot see any of the main ‘kids’ (well, they used to be…) dying. Although I am fairly confident Hopper is a goner at some point, it just seems so telegraphed that he is going to sacrifice himself for 11 that I’d be astonished if he makes it right to the end.
Just never got into it tho I admire Millie Bobby Brown is astonishing in her Holmes stuff and has certainly carved a huge niche for her age in the industry and beyond Millie Bobby Brown - Wikipedia

Finally getting deeper in Homeland. The Guardian calls it genius - I enjoy Claire Danes ever since Romeo and Juliette tho the psycho melt downs get old. She was very good in The Beast in Me tho she made me feel old
I like Rhys as well …he was terrific in The Americans which still ranks for me perhaps the top in the category tho Spooks a near rivsl
Gave up on Kaleidoscope …just blah ![]()
I’ve never watched any Stranger Things and I only recently learned who Millie Bobby Brown is. It was little more than a name I heard from time to time. Up until a few months ago, I honestly just assumed it was one of Bobby Brown’s kids. In my defense, he’s got quite a few kids, including Bobby Brown Jr and Bobbi Kristina Brown, so Millie Bobby Brown made sense. Also, just looking online, I see Bobbi Kristina Brown died just a year before Stranger Things first aired, so there would’ve been some overlap in hearing the two names.
Anyways, I’ve been watching Minx. I don’t recall hearing about it before a few days ago, though it’s already been mentioned way upthread here. Sidenote: I see there’s an actor in it named Robert Curtis Brown, but he’s older than Bobby Brown, and white, so probably not related either.
I’ve only got a few more episodes of the first season left and, at least as of right now, I intend to watch the second season as well. For those that haven’t seen it, it’s really good, but it has a lot, like a lot, a lot, of male and female nudity since it takes place within the porn industry. It makes me a bit more careful about who I recommend it to.
Jake Johnson, Nick from New Girl, really does a good job with the character. And Jessica Lowe, Bambi, she’s a dead ringer for Annaleigh Ashford.
It’s also requiring suspension of belief to accept that these characters are still in school. They’re all in their 20s and Joe Keery is 33.
I think I can catch you up:
The Big Bad from last season, Vecna, was defeated and seemingly killed. But like Jason Voorhees, The Gang thinks he’s only merely dead, not most sincerely dead, and is hiding out somewhere in the Upside-Down licking his wounds. The Gang is now taking turns sneaking into the Upside-Down looking for Vecna. The town was partially destroyed and now it and its inhabitants are quarantined by the military. Redhead girl (Max?) is still in a coma after her possession by Vecna last season. Demogorgons are running around loose, doing what demogorgons do.
It’s there if you go through the Hulu app.
You forgot “The military continue to make everything so much worse, just like in every season.”
I tried using my Disney+ credentials in the Hulu app, but I’m repeatedly told that my Hulu account is deactivated and that I need to re-subscribe. If I use the credentials in Disney+ app, I have access to both Disney and Hulu… but Fargo is not listed among the available Hulu TV shows.
We also just switched from having Hulu and using the Hulu app to the Hulu/Disney+ bundle, where Hulu is accessed through the Disney app. I just checked, and can confirm that Fargo does not come up in a search. That does suck. I wonder what else is available on Hulu proper that isn’t available in the bundle?
Do you have access to FX on Hulu? Because that’s where I see Fargo listed.
Here’s an article discussing what is and isn’t available in the merged Hulu / Disney+ app that was available on Hulu. fortunately, not too many shows are left off, it looks like.
The article says you should be able to log into the Hulu app using Disney+ credentials to view Fargo and other shows that are not on the bundle, but I’m not able to do so. I can only access Hulu through the D+ app now.
Hmm that’s weird. I also signed up for the Hulu/Disney+ bundle and my login works for both the Hulu and Disney apps. I signed up through Hulu, maybe that is why.
I tried that as well, but still, no Fargo.
I’m just glad that I subscribed to Hulu directly rather than Disney+. I did read something that Disney plans to merge them, particularly after it bought out Comcast’s stake in Hulu.
Yep, I don’t know when Hulu is going bye-bye, but at some point I think it will be one service. I have both, along with HBO MAX, for about $20/month or something.
I do tend to watch Hulu things on Hulu and Disney-ish things on Disney Plus, but I could see them joining.
Stanger Things Ugh, my wife is a completist and will watch this without me so I am along for the ride. The next big bad, the next wall, the next school kids hatching a plan no other government agency can figure out. It’s tired and so am I. The show definitely should have considered their ages and written that in somehow.
