Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on

That was my take right from the first ep of the first season. Other than a few mild chuckles, I thought the show was poorly done and nearly unwatchable. We slogged through two seasons and then gave up.

I did find seasons 1 and 2 to be good, though. I assure you it went a bit downhill.

I do love the interaction between Marty Short, Steve Margin, and Selena Gomez. This is literally my only real exposure to Selena Gomez. Didn’t know what she looked like before this show.

What a criminally underrated comedy. My wife and I watched and loved all three seasons several years ago. Hilarious sendup on the Bachelor / Bachelorette series. I recently wanted to do a rewatch, but it doesn’t seem to be available anywhere on streaming anymore, except to rent or buy.

This is pretty much the only reason I watch OMitB. I never thought the central mysteries were that compelling, and usually lose most of the plot thread pretty early on because I just don’t care-- I’m only watching for the character interactions. In addition to the main cast, the seasonal special guest actors and comedians / musicians who do cameos always seem like they’re having fun with it. It’s a good ‘watch with one eye while I goof around on my iPad’ watch.

The other thing I really like about Only Murders in the Building is the building itself. I wouldn’t mind living there, as it seems like a really nice place.

Except, ya know, for all the murders.

Seems like one a year or so. I could live with that.

…until you don’t

I finished the first season of For All Mankind last night. I’m really enjoying it (I love alternate history stories) and looking forward to season 2.

However, one thing about the last episode of season 1 is really bothering me. Ed has been alone on the moon and captures the Soviet cosmonaut. He ends up letting him go after the cosmonaut helps with rescuing the flight bringing the relief crew/his ride home. Now all of the relief crew end up dying except for Ellen Wilson and it appears he doesn’t tell her (or anyone?) about his little stunt holding the cosmonaut captive. And he’s okay with leaving her there all alone to deal with any potential fallout?!

I think I gave up on it after two or three seasons. I thought it went off the rails of even marginal logic.

I just wish they didn’t ignore gravity strength entirely. Everyone is at Earth gravity no matter where.

I can kind of get passed most of the gravity stuff just because that would be an astronomical cost for the show, and I understand that just isn’t feasible. But yes it is a bit jarring sometimes.

The continuation of Scrubs is back for season two. First two episodes have been good.

In fact, the first two new episodes this week were excellent. I think they really felt as good as the original run of Scrubs.

I’m so glad it is back. I hope it goes for 10 more seasons. I do miss Bob Kelso and Jan. I. Tor.

According to his Wiki page, Neil Flynn will appear as a guest.

And apparently, Ken Jenkins will probably not reappear as Bob Kelso, mostly because of his age (86 years old and retired).

Incidentally, the second episode of the second season of the Scrubs revival series was called “My Mentee”, and was about J.D. taking on a new mentee, Grant (played by one of the three guys from the Please Don’t Destroy group on SNL). The second episode of the first season of the original Scrubs series was called “My Mentor” and was about J.D. getting to know Dr Cox.

If there were recommendations in this thread for Corner Gas, thanks, I’m enjoying it.

Also down to the finale for 11.22.63.

I hope they worked it out and he manages to make a secret surprise appearance.

“Who has two thumbs and still doesn’t give a crap?”

Furious

On Disney Plus (or Hulu).

One of the best things I have seen in a long time, very good indeed.

Female serial killer is pursued by a low-ranking FBI agent with the help of her former colleague at the NYPD.

Heavy subject matter, which, in my uninformed opinion, was handled well.

Good performances all round and well directed.

Svengoolie counts as a series IMHO. While there are a lot of bad/cult movies shown, sometimes there are better ones (e.g. Duel). Tonight (October 2, 2026) they (he?) is airing The Wizard of Oz, apparently the first time on OTA TV in 26 years (MeTV has secured TV rights)
