Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on

It’s awful. Mostly very lame and fake. And Skylar Austin was shouting all his lines. Won’t continue with it.

I watched the first two and half episodes, and I don’t think I laughed once. Maybe one chuckle.

yup. Pissed us off royally

Watching Life and Beth on Hulu, I’ve always liked Amy Schumer, this is more of the same. If you’re not a fan, then you may wish to give it a pass as it is completely her show. It’s a rom-dramedy based loosely on her life (or as her life would have been like had she had a relatively normal career), also stars Michael Cera as the meet-cute.

Went to debate tonight and, before I left, turned on some show called 911 starring Connie Britton, just so the house wouldn’t be all dark and still and shit. Came home, watched 10 minutes, I’ve already lost 3 IQ points it was so fucking stupid, and I am now in a panic about possible brain damage to my dog who was exposed to this rot for 3 whole hours.

I just finished watching all six seasons of Longmire. I forget why I started.

Longmire was pretty disappointing. The lead was fine, but the main supporting characters were complete opposites of how they are written in the novels.

I’m enjoying this show! It reminds me of Psych.

Same for me. I couldn’t quite get past a lifelong Wyoming sheriff that was obviously not an American. Add that to not liking the woman deputy and I’m surprised I stuck it out as long as I did. I blame inertia and my wife. :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s a pretty good description.

Yep, agree completely. I only lasted the first season. Maybe one or two eps into the second. Such a disappointment.

I liked the ending, for a certain value of like. It definitely sets up Season 2. I was sorry to see the dogs go, but I have a soft spot for Rotties. Overall, I’d definitely recommend the series.

We’ve been watching SurrealEstate. It’s slightly more serious than usual SyFy fare. A real estate agency that specializes in difficult houses, of the haunted or possessed kind. It’s worth checking out if you like supernatural shows.

Appropriately enough, it is coming back from the dead.

I started Stephen King’s Storm of the Century on Hulu. I’m still slogging through part 1. Is it worth sticking with?

BTW, I see that the first two episodes of American Horror Story season 11 are out.

It doesn’t get any better. In fact, I think it gets worse.

That’s the impression I got. Thanks.

Started watching The Watcher. A really good cast, but I’ll see how it goes. Mia Farrow probably shouldn’t be wearing pigtails at her age; it’s kinda creepy.

Surely, that’s the intent.

Probably, but don’t call me Shirley.

We watched the first episode of a new series on Amazon called “The Peripheral.” It’s one of those alternate reality things. We were only lukewarm on it but will give it another shot to see where it goes.

One thing annoyed me. I just hate contrived accents. Yes, I know it takes place in small town West Virginia, but there was just too much fake hillbilly talk. The characters are supposed to be reasonably intelligent, and I somehow doubt people in West Virginia use “ain’t” in every other sentence they speak.

But … but … the TV commercials say it’s the No. 1 show this season!?! Actually, it’s the commercials that convinced us not even to give it a try. They make it look like total shit.

The Watcher has degraded into the realm on nonsensical plotting. I’ll finish it, but it’s gotten tedious.
