Seth: Drop "American Dad"!

Yeah, I’ve been watching Cleveland, but I’m ready to give up on it. It doesn’t do anything new. FG hasn’t been funny since season 3. I should probably quit that one as well. If the chicken fight comes back I’m gonna mail S McF poop in a bag.

American Dad forever! There have been some episodes that have had me laughing until I couldn’t breathe, and whilst FG had some amazing early episodes it now seems to be running dry. I love the satire element of AD and both Roger and Francine are great characters. If I’m ever slightly down all I need to do is think of the episode where Francine hired a mercenary operation to destroy George Clooney and I’m happy again

Agreed. Nothing Family Guy has ever done was half as funny as “You used to watch Sesame Street.”

As an aside, I have seen Seth on Larry King and was totally impressed. He fielded all the moronic questions with aplomb (I finally used aplomb in a fucking sentence, Dude!) and was very self-effacing (ditto!) to boot!

Q

I also prefer AD to FG these days, and not just because Francine is hotter than Lois. FG’s still pretty good though.

AD wins out simply by having Patrick Stewart playing a recurring character.

Roger is my favorite character out of all the Seth shows. His antics are always the best part of the show.

I think A.D. is a one trick pony that jumped the shark very early on.

Cleveland just isn’t funny and hasn’t been from episode one.

F.G. is still incredibly funny except for the specials.

Seth has always impressed me when I’ve seen him in public or in an interview. I think a lot of people expect someone low brow and moronic like Peter but he’s extremely diverse in his talents and interests. I mean, I don’t care for show tunes myself, but the man resurrects destroyed show tunes by re-recording them, and you have to admire the dedication to doing something as, well, niche as that.

I think you need to lay off the Meth.

I think Cleveland is the most disposable. It’s mostly fart and poop jokes (they live in Stoolbend for crissakes), at least Family Guy throws other stuff in with their fart and poop jokes. Also Cleveland has that annoying theme song that ends up an earworm stuck in your head for days, I have to mute the tv during it.

Who just happens to look exactly like Patrick Stewart. The episode where he was hooking up with Haley is unbelievably funny.

C’mon, anyone could have taken God hostage.

I look forward to they day I can tell someone I’ve left electrolytes all over his daughter.

“All the little girls, they make me feel so bad.”

I love little girls’, not ‘all the’. Misquotes make Danny Elfman sad.

His voice is too damn annoying to make me love him. Nope, best character for me is definitely Patrick Stewart. Especially when taken in the context that this is a Shakespearean actor and Captain Picard. I love that Stewart feels does this completely absurd show. Remember the Star Trek clip on Family Guy?

Captain Picard: Number One.
Commander Riker: Yes, Captain.
Captain Picard: Let me ask you something. If I whispered in your ear that Commander Worf’s head looks like a fanny, would you join me in a laugh?
Commander Riker: Yeah, I could get in on that.
Captain Picard: All right! Here it comes! (Shouting despite using a whispering gesture) Commander Worf’s head looks like a fanny!
(Everyone laughs)
Commander Worf: You can both suck my ridges.
Captain Picard: Oh, get a sense of humour, Rocky Dennis.

Now, that was FG, but the CIA director he plays on AD is absurd constantly. Hilarious.

Even Haley is a more interesting character than anyone on Family Guy now.

Well, I remember an episode where Stewie managed to round up the entire ST:TNG cast, but so much time was wasted (including yet another round of the idiotic “cool wHip” bit) that several of the actors got at most two lines and the comic potential of the premise was completely wasted. That strikes me as the biggest flaw of Family Guy - the tendency to run unfunny gags into the ground, then dig them up to ground them yet again.

Yeah, I* know *all that shit, but jesus, I used aplomb in a fucking sentence fer chrissakes!

No credit, huh?

Shoulda known.

The Dope: A tuff room to play.

Love y’all!
