So it’s like I said:
They are going to eliminate Mark’s pain (and everyone else’s, if they get the chance) with all the humanity of Thanos eliminating hunger and want.

That seems more like a veiled threat than the bad guy revealing his plan. Plus, even Gemma thought when he said that that he was taking in circles.
Because he is a cultist, he truly believes he is doing good. And while he was creepy AF I did not get the feeling he was lying or threatening her. Plus it is not the only comment, they’ve been talking about it and it fits what they are doing. “Kier’s eternal war against pain” is mentioned before the goat sacrifice also.
I just finished binge watching both seasons. I am really enjoying this show. The second season finale tied up more loose ends than I expected. This was much less of cliff hanger than the S1 finale. I wonder if they weren’t sure whether the series would be renewed when they made this episode. It wouldn’t be terrible if the series ended here.
I don’t have a lot to add to what’s been discussed above, but having recently binged Orphan Black, I’m struck by a number of common elements between the two shows. (Spoilered for those who haven’t watched Orphan Black.)
This is not criticism, just observation. Obviously these elements are put together quite differently in the two shows, but it strikes me that there are so many similarities between two shows that I watched within a few months of each other.
OMG, I actually laughed so hard when this scene aired in Orphan Black.
Yeah, me too. It was so shockingly unexpected and darkly hilarious.
Well, I’m late to the party but this is the best science fiction show I have ever seen and bar-none one the best things on television.
And I loved the season 2 Finale. Loved it.
Shades of The Graduate.
