As far as most of the other candidates are concerned, I think they are walking a fine line between, “I am ready to jump to the head of the line if he is forced out of the race” and “I want to be VP if he stays in the race.”
And, every time the authorities have asked me to pay up or serve time or whatever for doing so, I’ve done so. I don’t claim I’m entitled to break the law with impunity; I face the consequences.
