I was very surprised when I opened this page to “Cafe Society” and searched it for several different spellings of the TV show “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll”.
I tried, “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll”, “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll”, “Sex Drugs Rock Roll” and a few others but I could not find it anywhere. I tried to search using the Firefox search tool as well as Google:

But, I was not able to find it anywhere. I have a very strong feeling there must be an existing thread for this show. But I can’t find one anwhere in “Cafe Society”.

It stars Denis Leary. Note the unusual spelling of his name. He is also the Exec Producer. When I read the IMDB listing, I was quite hopeful this would be a real fun show. But it seems so similar to “Rescue Me” which was his last TV show. When I watch this show and close my eyes, for some reason, I get the feeling I’m watching “Rescue Me”. I think that many of you would object to my saying that. But all of the episodes I have watched so far just seem to have the same flavor as the Rescue Me episodes. I think the one thing that really bothers me about this show is that most every episode could well be titled, “Poor Me” and it is difficult to distinguish one episode from another.
I really like the actor who plays his lead guitar. His name is John Corbett and he plays the character named “Flash”. There are certainly a few funny moments and that is quite good considering this show is listed as a “Comedy”.
I just don’t know how many of you will enjoy this. My feeling is that it is quite borderline. I just wish he would have written (yes, he is also the writer for many episodes) this show and cast some other actor as the lead character.
His character has the unfortunate name of “Johnny Rock”. It’s just too much of a cliche and there are just too many cliches that we are faced with.
I hope that all of you who try this show will enjoy it. I just don’t think the odds favor that very much.
