SF Bay Area DopeFest

I’m developing a bit of a cold, but if I’m well I’ll be at the fair for a few hours, probably hiding from the sun in the Cat Club bar if I’m not walking around. I hear Kitten on the Keys is playing on the 12th street stage at noon, I’m deffinately going to try and catch her performance.

Why does everyone say “I might check it out for a few hours” when what you really mean is you’ve been putting that snazzy little leather outfit together for the whole last year, you’re going to be there from sunup to sundown, and drink yourself silly the whole time.
Oh, wait. That’s just me.

I can’t make it. For the first time in close to a year, my weekend is booked solid.

Well one doesn’t want to scare people off

psy and I have never been. I think we may head down and check it out if we’re not too hung over from Saturday’s revelries(We’re going to the Sonoma County Harvest Fair Awards Night on Saturday night.)

What’s the best place to park for people driving in? Is there a particularly cool place to hang out? Is it something that you walk around checking out or something where you sit (like in a BAR) and watch the freaks interesting people go by or what?

It closes off a several-block stretch of Folsom, so there’s plenty to walk around and see. However, there are quite a few bars along Folsom, with plenty to see. I think there’s booths et up along the road, not to mention the regular businesses, some of which are pretty freaky year-round. When we last Dopefested there, we settled into a bar and saw topless table dancers and people getting funky in the booth next to us. It seems like the kind of thing where you could be happy taking a stroll up and down the street once or twice and then settling into a booth in one of the bars and letting the interesting people come to you.

Parking… egh… I’d have to recommend a garage.

Missed you doods. Kitten on the Key’s wardrobe malfunction was quite fun, but not as extreme as Erotika (sp?) from New York on the other stage. I wonder if the organizers got in trouble over the complete female nudity going on there? Not that I minded one bit (well except for her silicon enhanced breasts being unflatteringly unnatural). The Cat club was completely weird, the wanker on the dancefloor (literally) might have put some people off their drinks.

We had a pretty good time. A little weird, but definitely some fun people-watching.

I wondered the same thing about all the naked people, and learned something new.

Apparently it’s A-OK to walk around San Francisco completely nude.
