SF Bay Area DopeFest

No, I was the hot one in green.

Great pictures, Sandy!

We’re home. We spent a very nice (hot) weekend in the city. I’m so glad to have met everyone Saturday night. Everyone was incredibly fun to talk to.

We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to meeting up with all the Bay Area Dopers again sometime soon.

I got to meet just about everyone, but had some great conversations with Voyager, ageless6 and his SO, SpoilerVirgin, Sassy, Ghanima (and Plus One) , Bippy, Miller, Troy McClure SF, Seadiver, sturmhauke and available light, Lezlers, and SolGrundy. And I’m sure I chatted with other folks, but the vodka martinis might have gotten the better of my memory.

I’m really glad everyone enjoyed themselves, we most certainly did.

See y’all next time.

Another big thank you to Psycat90 and Demo what a cool lot of chaps (incl. women and men) the SF Dopers are. In all the pics I’m talking to SpoilerVirgin I did talk to everyone else as well, honest.

Hey you guys! Thanks to everyone who made it out. It was excellent to meet you all. As always, I leave these things regretting I didn’t get to talk to everyone as much as I would have liked but still stoked to have at least connected with you all a little bit. Sorry Buzz 9 was so freaking hot! Hope we can do this again soon!

I had a fantastic time, thanks so much demo and psy for organizing!!!
I tried to talk to everyone, and nearly did, didn’t get to chat with sturmhauke and available light so much, but maybe next time. I really enjoyed the conversation and the food was pretty good too. I liked the strategy of starting everyone out with garlic breath so we could just skip to unabashed crassness. “Plus one” had a good time too, despite having no idea what we were talking about half the time. Hey, in those pictures you can see me get drunker! The more squinched up my left eye is, the drunker I am. Cool!
P.S. I was the not-as-hot-one in green.

Thanks to everyone who came! I had a great time, and my pants have now fully recovered ;). Demo and psycat, it was really nice to see you again and thanks for helping get everything set up. Bippy, I had fun listening to your accent and riding in your really cool convertible. SandyHook, you did a good job with the pictures – every time I looked up, there was a flashbulb in my face. I look forward to seeing all of you again soon, and maybe even being able to remember more of your names.

That reminds me. I kept trying to place Bippy’s accent, but didn’t get a chance to talk to him long enough to actually ask.

Lemme guess… Swahili? I’m not very good at this…

Don’t be silly, I don’t have an accent, it is all you Americans that have accents
(OK I have a home counties accent, with a smattering of Lancastrian phraises)

Any of you chaps interested in getting out to SF clubs/events on the occasional weekend? I notice the San Francisco World Music Festival is coming up soon.

Shoot, I asked Bippy a couple of times where his accent was from! But that’s because I’m deaf (not really, but it seems like it sometimes).

My memory also sucks, apparently. You’re from Wales, Bippy? Well, wherever you’re from, it was delightful to listen to!

Thanks for the pictures SandyHook, I’m glad someone was on the ball, although most of the pictures I’m in consist of me bending forward and looking mean. Believe it or not, that’s my interested face. I’m not mean unless provoked.

And I’m totally down to get to SF clubs and events on the occasional weekend!

I’d be interested in attending more events in San Francisco. I don’t always take advantage of all the things the city has to offer.

Demo and I would definitely be in for drinks (or dinner, shows, whatever) in the city.

We’d probably not make it down more than once a month or so, and the next few are going to be tight with the holidays coming up, but we’ll sure try.

I too would be up for meeting like-minded internet people in a safe and fun setting in San Francisco for leisure activities and good times. In theory, at least. For now, I’m an indentured servant to a multinational entertainment consortium, and they own in addition to my soul, all of my free time. I got all kinds of grief just for taking off to go to the DopeFest (but it was totally worth it).

Still, I am always available to stand and look goofy among hot women.

I’m always down to hang out in SF.

BTW, how many of you SF Dopers have LJs as well? I have the same name there.

I’m not much for the club scene, but I’m game for any other sort of activity. I have truly shameful amounts of free time, so I should be able to show for just about anything, anywhere.

???
Whatever gave you the idea I was from Wales boy-o. I’m from Slough which is near London.

Does this event interest anyone?

Kitten on the Keys is a lounge style pianist with humour and wit whom I’ve seen a couple of times at “Naughty Santa’s Xmas Bazaar” and is very entertaining.
The others acts seem to be alternative rock bands. Unfortunately the show is on Wednesday for those who have to go to work on Thursday.

I’d like to add my thanks to demo and psycat for setting this up.

Another SF Fest, make it a yearly August event perhaps, next year would be great.

It was fun meeting all of you.

I’ll keep this in mind… I’ve enjoyed Kitten’s Grandma Sells My Panties on eBay from the SF Weekly’s best of local music CD.

Anyone going to the Folsom Street fair this weekend?

I might check it out for a few hours. I went last year and had a great time.

I was just going to ask that too.
