Howdy all. available light and I got there ridiculously late, so we didn’t get to meet everyone. I was the tall guy with very long hair, and she was wearing a pink shirt with a psycho kitty that said, “I’m a nice person, come closer.”
So no offense to the other Dopers world-wide, but I’ve got to say that San Francisco-area Dopers are the coolest on the planet. Especially Demo, Psycat, Troy McClure, SeaDiver, Miller, Lezlers, and SandyHook, if only because they’re the ones I spent the most time talking to.
I have to say that I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to do all the things I was promised to in other threads, but on the whole, I think it turned out okay.
It was indeed a pleasure Sol! SF Dopers definately rock (was there any question?)
Thanks all, for a great night. I had a blast! It’s been awhile since I’ve met a group of such open, friendly people.

Sorry I couldn’t make it…I was really looking forward to going, but unfortunately financial commitments deprived me of the money I had set aside for the outing. Ultimately, it was either have enough money/gas to go to the Dopefest, or have enough money/gas to get me through next week.
Massive kudos to Demo and Psycat for organizing this thing, and for doing such a great job of it, too. I had a great time, and everyone there was amazingly cool. Especially SolGrundy, Nametag, SandyHook, sturmhawk and Visible Light (who should post more often). I wish I’d had a chance to talk more (or, in some cases, at all) with Troy McClure and Biffy, among others, but the night went by so fast. Hopefully, I can rectify that next time around.
So, when’s someone going to start posting pictures?
We have to place black boxes over the necessary areas first.
Thank you all for a lovely evening and the experience of eating left-over chicken parmesan in the morning without benefit of plate or utensils. It was an exercise in divergent thinking and I learned a lot: everyone should attend a DopeFest!
As I feared,I (and SO) were the the seniors of the shindig.I was disappointed that more didn’t show up,(what happened,Stuffy?) but the ones who did were all great.Unfortunately,I wasn’t feeling too well,and wasn’t as vocal as I normally would be,plus both Bucca and Buzz9 were so loud I couldn’t hear a lot of what people were saying. Next time I vote for a quieter and cooler venue. Buzz9 was a sweat box.
That said,even though I was in pain and we had to leave,I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and so did Barb,who was a little apprehensive about the whole thing.(Going to meet a bunch of strangers that you met on the internet? I don’t know.) Afterwards she raved about how nice the people were,and how much fun she had,all the way home. We’re both looking forward to the next one.
I’ll add my thanks to Demo and ** psycat** two terrific,neat folks,for organizing this.
Had a great time! Looking forward to another one in the future.
The ride home was long, hot, and boring but I did remember to slather the nose with sunblock so at least it didn’t burn anymore. I don’t like going down the interstate and having to watch all that traffic. Give me a curvy back road anytime.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area (Richmond) and wish you all well in this reunion. I can’t attend because I now live in NC, but wish you well. (Don’t forget the Warf.) GOD I miss SF.!!!
