Shain Gandee (Buckwild cast) found dead with two others.

Buckwild has only been on the air a few months. I’ve never watched it.

Another cast member, Salwa Amin (sorry I can’t call them stars) was busted on heroin charges a few weeks ago.

Maybe Jersey Shore wasn’t so bad after all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Access Hollywood interview with Shain Gandee. Seemed like a nice guy and very animated. Perfect casting for a reality show. He never really got a chance to enjoy the success of getting on a MTV show.

Wow, I saw that they were discovered dead, hadn’t seen the ‘shot’ part yet.

I figured maybe they rolled the truck off a cliff or something.

Well, shall we speculate as to motive?

The reports were saying shot earlier this morning. Looks like now they’re updating the story.

Maybe it was a traffic accident?

Theres more here. Heavy drinking Sat night seems confirmed.

I hate to sound old, but I cringed every time they took off in a in a truck, likely intoxicated, with no seat belts and passengers in the bed.

I saw some clips on youtube. Seems like the show provided a lot of booze and encouragement for the craziness. Theres one clip of them using a dump truck as a swimming pool. Somebody must have rented that truck for them.

I’ve gone mud buggin a few times. We never did it drunk or drove crazy. Washing the truck afterward wasn’t nearly as much fun.

Gunshot wounds and foul play is NOT suggested?

I liked the show but only watched 2-3 episodes worth of it and let it fall by the wayside.

Here is a local West Virginia tv report. They cover Sissonville where it happened. The news reporter was on the scene. Interesting video but still no indication of what happened. Except the truck was way off in the woods. They needed a 4 wheeler to get there.

Charleston, WV paper has more information. There doesn’t appear to be any indication of gunshot wounds at all and since the police have said there are no signs of foul play, and they’ll have to wait on the medical examiner to get a cause of death it’s highly unlikely they were shot. I’ll chalk that up as an “internet rumor.”

It sounds like they were “mudding” off road and got their Bronco completely stuck in mud, sounds like half submerged. That probably blocked the exhaust and caused CO to fill the passenger area and killed them.

It doesn’t sound like they were lodged in the car with no way to get out as it says the driver side door was still far enough out to open. I’d suspect being intoxicated (it was after 3 AM when they closed down a bar) when they got stuck in the mud the driver probably worked awhile trying to get the vehicle out not realizing the tailpipe was blocked. By the time the first one of them went unconscious from CO it’s possible the other two were so disoriented/out of it themselves they didn’t realize what was happening (the fact they were probably super drunk I’d imagine helped) and they just went down for good one by one.

I watched that show and I really got a soft spot for Shain. He reminded me of an ex boyfriend, a white trashy guy who had a very sweet side.

I caught the story today while perusing Buzzfeed and hoped it was an April Fool’s Day prank.

Dammit.

His grandfather, Mohandas K., is inconsolable.

It’s just the kind of dumbshit southern thing that thins the herd.

“Hold my beer while I do donuts in the mud. YEE-HAW! This is some fun, boys!”

It’s always fun until someone gets dead.

It makes you think about how technology-centered the redneck lifestyle really is. Without it they’d have nothing to do but stick penises in barnyard animals and pray. But there is a cost.

There’s actually been a few stories this year of people dying in cars because they didn’t think that the exhaust pipe was blocked. People in cars half encased in snow or mud should know the exhaust pipe is blocked.

That’s not very nice. The same kind of comment about the hood wouldn’t stand.

Depends. Is the person we are talking about making money on a TV show doing stupid stereotypical things and then dies doing a stupid stereotypical thing?

What, what’s wrong with this? :

I’ve revised the thread title since it sounds like none of these people were shot.

I’m glad the thread title got corrected. Thanks Marley. Those early, breaking reports yesterday tripped me up.

Getting killed by CO is pretty messed up. All they had to do was shut off the truck. Sleep and hike back home the next day. Alcohol can really mess up peoples reactions to problems.

How much did the cast members make? Was it a ‘We’ll see how season 1 goes, and if it’s good you’ll make the big money season 2’?
