Shakespeare Mafia-- Act I

Would Prof.Pepperwinkle not have 3 instead of 2 votes?

Sorry, fixed.

Nice to see the No-ETA rule because it is frowned upon does not apply to everyone

Vote Demontree

Vote LH75

I think AngeloftheNorth makes sense and I therefore support them.

Am I correct that I still win if my team wins, even if I don’t survive? So I shouldn’t vote just to save myself, but should try and maximalise the chance of killing scum rather another townie? Not that that really helps at this stage, since I don’t have much of a read on anyone yet.

You are correct. You win when your team wins.

I guess I’d better get my thoughts out now, in case I don’t have chance later.

@AngeloftheNorth voted for me and @LH75 (as well as a bunch of other players she’s since unvoted), but @LH75 still thought AotN was town. If LH75 is scum and AotN isn’t, that wouldn’t make much sense. But it might make sense as misdirection if both are scum, or they might both be town and AotN is just wrong about LH75 as well as me. Or AotN is scum and picking on townies (by voting a list that includes a few scum, then unvoting them later). I don’t know.

@Thing.Fish picked on me for lurking, so maybe he’s trying to protect one of the other newbies who had posted even less? Or it was just an excuse, but I think people should be suspicious of him if I’m lynched.

@Prof.Pepperwinkle has the most votes, so I just had another look at his posts. He’s cryptic, not to say strange, but maybe that’s normal for him. Why are people suspicious of him, exactly?

Does anyone know whether roles get revealed when a player is killed, or do we only find out whether they are mafia or not?

Actually, I’m tied for the lead with you, DemonTree, and with LH75. 3 each after glee’s vote.

Cryptic? Strange? Thank you very much!

People are suspicious of me because I voted for SunUp without declaring a reason. Early on in games I do it as a matter of course to see what it will stir up. This usually stirs up votes on me, but they don’t tend to last to the end.

I won’t be around much tomorrow, because I’ll be bedsitting Madame P., but I may be able to comment. I will be placing serious votes later, based on who’s lurking mostly.

I was surprised to discover this, but it’s true! I had forgotten some posts from earlier in the game, and somehow I had thought that LH75 and Bicycle had posted more than they had. Anyway, this seems like a pretty townie response.

unvote DemonTree

Prof’s explanation also seems acceptable.

unvote Prof Pepperwinkle

This is a somewhat controversial topic. General consensus is that you should always vote to protect yourself, even if it means voting for someone you think is town, since you know that you’re town and there is a chance you’re wrong about the other person.

That’s a really anti-town thing to do.

Vote Prof. Pepperwinkle

Ach, I’ve been played.

In my defense, being a walking encyclopedia of biographical information is very different from trying to read motivations from text threads.

Anyway, I will

unvote Prof.Pepperwinkle

and, since I’m unsure of how Prof.Pepperwinkle’s tactics can be construed as “anti-town”, I’m going to

vote Mahaloth

because, at the very least, I would like to hear the reasoning behind that conclusion.

Hmm. I’m still kind of suspicious, but I guess not enough not to

Unvote Thing.Fish

But now I’m back to not knowing who to vote for. :frowning:

Yeah, I did think of that. But voting for someone can encourage others to follow suit, so it might be better to vote for who you suspect and hope others copy that. We’re running out of time now, though.

Stirring up stuff just to stir stuff up isn’t pro-town. I’m not sure how to explain that further.

Yeah, but I usually only do it on D1 to give everybody something to discuss besides mechanics.

Now for the serious vote. This is the player who seems to me to be not as active as the others. If I had any other reason to decide on someone, I’d use it.

vote Bicycle_Bill

Ugh, I dunno. I disagree with Prof P’s tactic - especially this late in a Day, a cryptic vote like that means we’ve now moved several hours closer to the deadline without learning anything particularly valuable - but I, it must be said, am often wrong.

@Prof.Pepperwinkle, why did you choose Sun Up, a new and fairly active player, as your target for this tactic?

Unvote all

Driving in the rain in CDMX (passenger), I will put votes down when I get back to our apartment, probably won’t make it in time for end of day tomorrow.
