Shakespeare Mafia -- Act II

Mahaloth, if someone aimed a redirection at you and it hit Thing.Fish, does that mean you’re claiming Angelo?

@DemonTree, good analysis of Pardel-Lux’s potential actions…remember, he didn’t know what his power was until he used it.

Regarding Angel/Angelo, my name on these boards has been some variation of Angel or Archangel since 2009.

Going to check the rules now and if I’m permitted to, I will share exactly what my result said.

I don’t see it in the rules, so @Chronos,

Is it permissible to share the exact text of response messages?

My only experience with redirectors, they have been a scum role not a town role.

Redirectors for the most part cause chaos. Why would a town player want to redirect Angels actions to someone else.

When we went to sleep last night…. Angel had claimed to be a Town Power. There was no reason to question her.

If I had a town power and my power was vague, I wouldn’t have used it on the pool of players I thought were town. I would have gone into my unknown pile because there’d be less of a risk of hurting Town and more of a chance of doing something to a scum.

There are other explanations for Angels results. Paranoid cop…. Maybe scum has a lawyer. Idk

But if I had to guess I’d believe the redirector was on the scum team. And I don’t think they would have pushed town Angel to another scum.

Nope. I won’t claim, but that isn’t the role name.

I mean, I can’t illuminate without a light and I am in the darkness.

:man_shrugging:

Yes, it is permissible. That’s why I told everyone the format of the messages and gave a sample.

Okay, thank you.

I’ll post the message of the result I got.

I wrote “I’d like to target Mahaloth this evening.”

The response I got is:

Here comes dumb Mahaloth. (I used to say that on Giraffe boards). I believe* your PM from the mod is real, so:

  1. We figure villains have villain names? I had to look up that Angelo is the villain of Measure and Google says he is. I probably saw Measure for measure 30 years ago and did not come away with a strong memory.

  2. I ask because when I mod, I give villain names and hero names out randomly so there is no way a name claim could screw over the scum team. Of course, if you only have name-getting ability, that kind of suggests our names align with our team.

My name is a good character and that checks out with the idea overall.

I have to think we yeet/kill/eliminate/stage-exit Thingfish today. I can’t see another option unless it is obvious and I’ve missed it.

Vote Thing.Fish

Oh, the *.

*for now, anyway. I dunno, I guess it could be made up, but an awful risk to make it up.

Mahaloth 2 (Thing.Fish 50-72, glee 54, AngeloftheNorth 63)
Thing Fish 3 (glee 54, AngeloftheNorth 63, Mahaloth 90)
AngeloftheNorth 1 (AngeloftheNorth 63)

So far, of the names we can be sure of, the good guys have had good guy names and Biotop had Macbeth, a bad guy.

I’m not seeing the case on Mahaloth.

If Angel is speaking the truth, then Thing.Fish is probably Scum.
If Angel is not speaking the truth, then she is almost certainly Scum.

But, we have multivote.

vote Thing.Fish
vote AngeloftheNorth

and keep a critical eye out for shenaniganery at End of Day.

True, but why do this? Not a scum gamble I can see.

Sorry, what is your character name?
(I read through this thread but didn’t see it…)

I don’t see the point in having a name cop unless Villains have Villain names.

Maybe because she delights in the complexities of the game and hasn’t gotten to do it for a long while.

Well, I wasn’t really claiming, but I don’t mind sharing my name I guess.

Enobarbus

Yeah, that is what I figured.

Having looked it up, I find that Enobarbus was Mark Antony’s friend in Antony & Cleopatra, and, accordingly, a good guy.

Yep, not a character I was familiar with either. In fact, I don’t think I’ve read or seen that play.
