I want to go to the movies with you.

I’m way too much of a pussy to do anything more than sigh heavily and glare, or move my seat away from talkers if it gets too bad. I don’t go to movie theaters much. If at all possible, I go at off-times when I can find myself a little corner of isolation.

I’ve often thought that theaters should have a hot-line number patrons could text from their seats to rat out obnoxious assholes without having to leave the theater and miss some of the movie. Of course, I’m fantasizing that once I’ve paid my money and put my ass in the seat, the theater staff would give a shit whether someone was throwing Junior Mints at me or talking to their boyfriend at full volume during crucial scenes.

there was a theatr in philly that was known for its audience participation. it was a great theatr to see blockbuster action movies, and you knew that people would be speaking to the screen (and a huge screen it was). i am bummed that it has closed now.

if you didn’t want to have audience participation you could go to the “frou frou” ritz theatrs on the other side of town. no kids under 6 and theatr employees in the room to stop bad behaivour immediatly.

Jeepers Creepers 2. A college-age couple nearby were making out and talking dirty to each other through the entire movie. I couldn’t hear them much and it didn’t even bother me. But about ten minutes before the end of the movie, the woman sitting behind them suddenly started screaming at them. The best part was “My daughter’s only 11 and she doesn’t need to hear this!”

Also, I once got the stinkeye for talking during the pre-preview commercials. Dude must’ve been a big fan of the national guard.
