I’ve been playing Age of Mythology a lot lately and one thing as become clear–I suck!
What I really need help with is the first 10min of play, and for now let’s focus on the Greeks. What are your first few tasks, what do you go for first, how many little workers do you build?

The Age of Mythology Heaven has some great strategies. I’ve found good success with going heavily for wood and favour so that I can focus on centaurs. They’re ranged, but as myth units are tough enough to be abused a little in melee.
The trick is to build many, many, many workers. The more resources you have, the faster you can build things. Also, when you get to the right age, ALWAYS chose Dionysus as your god, so you can build the Plenty, and have a continous supply of gold, wood, and food.
Thanks, but I’m still confused at what to do right at the start. Obviously I need more workers, but that takes food, so I need more food, but I can’t seem to get enough. I also want to keep upgrading, but that also requires food. In short, I just can’t seem to get enough of it fast enough to be viable.
What are your typical actions in the first few moves of the game?
