Shark Tank amazing invention

I don’t watch Shark Tank, unless you count occasional looksees of the BBC original. But the promos for this past week’s episode were just way too sensational. I didn’t happen to catch the episode but I have to wonder, what was the big amazing invention they were all fawning over that would make million in the promo?

it was either the lipstick molding kit for $20, which you use three old lipstick shades and make a new color.

or it was the coffee caffeine indicator patent. Like the litmus test, u put coffee on the paper and chemicals will tell you if there’s caffeine or not. Adjusted for levels to avoid the really small amounts of caffeine found in general. The patent holder wanted to leverage his patent to sugar packet and non-sugar sweetener packet manufacturers, so that people will want to have this indicator on it.

Both of these products were picked up by the Sharks. However, if i remember the commercial correctly, it was a woman holding some sort of blurred product in her hand, which means it was the lipstick molding kit.

addition, if you are from the US, u can watch stuff on ABC’s website, in Canada, Global TV picked up the show, not sure if they have it on their website tho. Just checked Global, they have it on their website.

if u can’t watch either website’s video, here’s a recap of the episode in question.

I will tell you what it was for 51% of your television and exclusive rights to your remote control.

Maybe it’s just because I’m a guy and have never used lipstick, but that underwhelms me. I’m glad I didn’t bother to tune in. Thanks all!

Bahh…

The guy with the throx idea was way better. His idea was to sell socks in a “pair” of 3 rather than 2 so that when one teleported away, like they always do, you’d still be good to go with the two left.

I called it the second they introduced that guy. Once they said he had a solution for a problem of the ages I KNEW right away what problem he had solved and how to solve it.

I dunno, I always just buy my socks in packs of 8 or a dozen or whatever identical pairs. I still get that redundancy, but a lot more efficiently, since any sock can substitute for any other.

The whole selling point she was getting at was.

  1. Women love new lipstick

  2. You can create a brand new color from 3 old lipstick shades, and women love new lipstick.

  3. when you basically run out on an old lipstick, there is a third left inside the applicator, what a waste.

  4. easy to do, just get the three thirds, mash them up, shove them in the mold, microwave the junk and see the new results.

  5. $19.95 per mold, not that bad a price.

  6. The TV shopping network guy saw potential, the woman shark thought, omg, women love new lipstick, black shark wanted in too, the two canadian sharks opted out. I’m pretty sure the shopping network dude can get that on TV and sell it like crazy.
