How dumber is it than a giant gorilla climbing the Empire State with a blonde in his mitt?
This may seem like a bogus distinction, but “a gorilla, only huge!” is a simple, straightforward idea. A shark-octopus hybrid (apparently with a mouth at both ends?) is convoluted and unnecessarily complex. There does seem to be degrees of implausibility.
That said, I’m a fan of ridiculousness, so that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
