Shatner(Star Trek) vs. Fisher(Star Wars)

Yes, yes, this is all just in good fun, but I’m wondering if any of you have followed this fun little back-and-forth between Fisher and Shatner.

For impatient ones, skip to George Takei. He steals the show, easily.

Shatner launches a bit of a critique of Star Wars

Fisher jokes back, requesting to see Shatner in his original costume.

Shatner responds to Fisher.

And finally:

George Takei points out that a greater villain exists out there for sci-fi fans.

Takei wins the exchange easily.

Thing I noticed most was a comment somebody made on how Carrie Fisher is turning into Emperor Palpatine! Eek!

Better than the Jabba the Hut look she was going for a few years ago.

What’s with the eye glitter?

As he does with any exchange of which he’s part. Seriously, that man is awesome.

I’m wildly in love with George Takei. The way he flinches over the word ‘sparkle’ in his monologue is priceless!

i’m still amazed that Shatner is 80 freakin years old.

What is he, part elf?

Holy crap; he does not at all look it.

I guess it makes sense considering he was in several Twilight Zones circa 1963, as an adult in his 30s…even before color TV was mainstream. But jesus…

I was lucky enough to watch him and Nimoy sparring back and forth at Dragon*con year before last - OMG the visual contrast between them is incredible. And I believe that Shatner is actually the elder of the two. Nearly indescribably freaky to see that in person.

Judging by how red his face was in the second video, I’m guessing he’s at least one quarter tomato.

They’re almost exactly the same age. Shatner is four days older than Nimoy.

So we can put Nimoy firmly in the camp of actors/actresses who have not aged well? Along with Anjelica Huston, who looks like Leonard Nimoy wearing a wig?

Nimoy does the voiceovers for the technology tree advances in Civilization IV, my favourite computer game. I’ve looked up many famous speakers and quotes because of him.

Now all Chuck Lorre needs to do is get him on Big Bang Theory. There ought to be fun explaining why he took out a restraining order against Sheldon.
