In the magnificent movie Shaun of the Dead, what’s the brand of ice cream cone Ed is eating? And why do Brits think it’s funny?
I’ve read about it in several reviews but no one explains what they’re talking about, I’d like to get in on the joke.

I don’t know but last night when they were showing it on Comedy Central, the three main guys were on during the commercial breaks and were hypeing their new movie, Hot Fuzz. During one of the breaks they noted that the ice cream joke didn’t go over in America as no one knew the reference and context. So…they put in another ice cream scene in Hot Fuzz.
It’s a Wall’s Cornetto, seen here (scroll down) in Strawberry flavour. Choc’n’Nut is the classic Cornetto that Ed may have been after. Any Brit who hears the tune “'O Sole Mio” will immediately think of this popular ice cream confection, because for years the adverts had a guy in a gondola singing “Just one Cornetto” to that tune. Anyway, I suppose it’s funny because it’s a strange thing to have for breakfast, especially for a grown man.
I guess that’s why us Yanks didn’t get it - in the Land Of the Free, Home of the Fat, eating ice cream for breakfast is not THAT strange
Hell no! Some years back, I carpooled with a guy who had a 44 oz. SuperBigGulp Mountain Dew and two giant Snickers for breakfast every morning.
I understand he has diabetes now, if not teeth.
