Well, you’re free to feel any way you like, but IMO… any movie set in the Firefly universe with Firefly characters, IS Firefly. Just like to me a movie set in the Star Trek universe with Star Trek characters IS Star Trek.

Awful compared to… ?
There’s only one modern* TV sci-fi series that tops Firefly and that’s BSG. Of course, BSG ran for a lot longer so it’s hard to say what potential Firefly could have had if it kept going. And BSG was, of course, more serious - nothing quite captures the humor of Firefly.
*of course I’m a Trek fan too but more of a TOS guy
Some episodes of firefly are absolutely painful to sit through. Then again, I find some episodes of The Office painful to sit through so what do I know. But that song was boring as hell. I mean, jesus.
Here’s my problem with the song…
Ok, she doesn’t like Firefly. This is a serious problem for all right thinking geeky guys, BUT the girl plays Warhammer 40k. WARHAMMER 40K. Do you know how rare that is? You’d have an easier time finding girlfriends who PREFER having 2 girl 1 guy threesomes and who routinely bring home slave Leia cosplayers for said fun than you would finding a lady who knows why rolling a 1 when firing a plasma weapon is bad. I have played the game since 2nd edition. I have met in that entire time precisely 3 female players and 2 of them were extremely casual girlfriend-who-plays-sometimes type players. You do not let female 40k players go.
