She has arrived (New Baby Alert)

Jeff, your family and your new daughter are in my prayers. May the Lady bless and shelter you.

Congratulations! My prayers and best wishes go out to your family.

John

I will be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations!

My baby was born only 6 weeks short of her due date last year. My nephew, though, was due in July and decided he wanted to show up in April, too, along with his cousin. He had some problems at the beginning, but he fought hard and quickly caught up to, and then surpassed my daughter in the weight category. (He is a stout little guy!)

Your extra-special little one is a tough, strong-willed girl, and it will all work out. Congratulations to you, and your entire family! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

You and your family are in my thoughts. Your little girl is obviously a fighter and while you may not be so happy with that when she becomes a teenager, right now it’s the best thing for her and you! Here’s sending all the good thoughts I can gather your way!

I always try to do things in chronological order.

Congrats Jeff. We are all thinking of you and your family.

hang in there man, my sister had a baby almost the exact same size, It was rough going for a couple months, but now that kid is a holy terror.

Congratulations on your new addition, Jeffrey! I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I do have pics that I took with our digital camera, but I have no idea how to post them.

They are not on a web page, just my hard drive.

If anyone can tell me how, I will post one of them.

Again, thanks for all of your words and well wishes and prayers.

Jeffery

StrTrkr777, I’m sure the new member of the Federation will be doing well. It sounds like you have a good hospital that knows what they’re doing. Good luck to the both of you.

As far as posting pictures goes, in this thread in About this Message Board, ThufferinThuccotash mentioned how you can use PhotoLoft.com

StrTrkr, if you email them to me, I’d be glad to post them on my server for you.

Mazel tov! And I’ll be sure to have your kid in mind when I’m praying.

Jeff,

I asked my mom to remember Kimberly in her prayers as well. She asked me what the baby’s name was. I had to answer " Kimberly…er…Treker. " I’m sure God will know who it’s for. Keep us posted, sounds like things are going as well as can be expected.

May The Great Bird Of The Galaxy watch over you and yours. Along with God, of course.

Cecil said it. I believe it. That settles it.

Congratulations on your new little one! (Now that we know the story, you are fully excused from the Atlanta gathering in December, by the way.)

It sounds like the doctors know what they’re doing, and she’s in good hands. It may be rough going for you for a while, but she’ll grow stronger, and before you know it you will have her at home where she belongs. I’ll be sure to keep you all in my prayers, and send good thoughts her way every day. May God bless and keep you and yours.

She sounds like a wonderful miracle. It’ll be difficult for a while, but well worth it.

My family’s thoughts and prayers are with you folks. (There needs to be a smilie for hugs, darn it!)

God bless.

If you’re not part of the solution you’re just scumming up the bottom of the beaker.

Congratulations!

She’ll be a spitfire, for sure! Watch out for her teenage years!

Hoping she can come home soon!

A couple of days late, but congratulations on the birth of your little baby girl. My thoughts are with you and your family. Like somebody else mentioned, hold her and cuddle her as much as the doctors will allow you to. It has been medically proven that preemies who are held and touched and talked to frequently do better than babies who are left alone in their isolettes.

Congratulations, Jeffery, and I wish your family (and in particular little Kimberly) the best. Keep us posted, when you get a chance–I’m sure things are hectic for you. May our littlest Doper grow up strong and healthy.

A couple of people have referred to her as our little Trekker. And indeed she is and will be.

I just wanted to tell you that my sister-in-law (my wife’s sister) said when she first saw Kimberly that Kimberly was holding her hand in the Vulcan “Live Long and Prosper” manner. So, my sister-in-law said “She’s a Vulcan”. So, I guess she believes that Kimberly is a Trekker too.

Again, thanks everyone for your prayers, thoughts, words of encouragement, etc.

She is doing great. She is currently off of the respirator for the last 24 hours. She is still receiving oxygen through tubes in the nose, but that is less invasive and does not do the damage to the lungs that the respirator does. So the less she is on the respirator the better.

My wife and I will definitely hold her as much as they will allow (and that is as much as is good for Kimberly, too much stimulation is not good either).

Here is a link to the pictures I currently have.

I just talked to my wife and she told me that Kimberly got her first taste of mommy milk today. So she is getting to “eat” really baby stuff.

I am so happy.

Thanks again everyone.
