After strapping her in her car seat, I kissed her on the top of her head and said “I love you, Sophie,” to which she replied “I uve Ooh.” Confirmed, 'cause Mommy heard it. Her first real sentence!
Broke my heart, made me hum happy tunes for the rest of the day. I love my little girl.
One guy told me his parrot learned “Son of a bitch” after hearing only one time! He was scared this was the start of a foul mouth that couldn’t be stopped, but it seems to have forgotten it.
We also went to the zoo last week (being self-employed, I can take time for the family) and she kept on waving and saying “Hey, baby!” to all the animals. She also saw a chimp and said “It’s a baby!”
So I guess that was technically her first sentence… but in family lore, the “I Love You” will probably be retold. Makes for a better story, you see.
