She looks like the poster child for ridden hard and put away wet.

Hard to believe that this woman is only 23 years old.
Part of the reason why famous and rich people get special treatment is it’s easier for the staff.
And this is understandable. If you put someone like Lohan in jail, well the other inmates are going to want to get at her. Then you have to put out special details to make sure that no harms comes to her.
The prison system also knows she has free access to the press. They know she’s going to tell EXACTLY what it was like inside. A lot of stuff goes on in prison that is overlooked, for whatever reason. But an average Joe can’t get that message out. If Lohan was treated like everyone, she could expose this.
The head of the prison doesn’t want this.
In short famous people make more work for everyone. So it’s best to use alternate forms of rehabilitation whenever possible.
Putting her in jail serves no purpose. All it does is allow her to claim, “Well I’ve done my time, all should be forgiven.”
If I had my way I’d force her into community service and see to it that she performs it. Picking up trash on the side of the road under the watch of a guy with a shotgun is much more useful that letting her sit comfortably in prison for 25 days.
We ought to start a pool on how long she stays in. They said on CNN that overcrowding might get her out in only a few days. Non violent prisoners are the first released when the jail fills up.
I got a bad feeling she’ll be as stubborn as Robert Downy jr. He’s been to prison, got out, messed up etc. Nothing they did seemed to reach him. Then one day he decided to straighten up. Last I heard he’s doing ok (for now). But, he spent a lot of years facing judges and swearing he’d changed. They gave him chance after chance. Just like Lindsay.
I thought about that as well, but Robert Downey Jr. began his comeback when he was 40, and apparently had some solid Hollywood friends like Mel Gibson backing him up at the time. You have to wonder if an older actress, who apparently alienates a lot of people in the business, would be given any such second chance.
No biggie.
I feel sorry for the poor girl. If I had been rich and famous at age 20, and had unlimited access to drugs and sex, I would almost definitely be dead right now. I am lucky that I never had friends who did cocaine or heroin, and that I was too broke to get shitfaced every night. I am lucky that I never got a DUI or plowed my car into a goddamned bridge embankment. I am much more mature and responsible now ten years later and may someday become a productive member of society. I hope she gets better as well.
She is where she belongs. Too bad her parents aren’t in the slammer with her. Thank the judge I don’t have to worry about this drunk running into me…or anybody else.
There was a blurb on TV last night showing her dad being photographed with Tiger’s main mistress-- Rachael Uchatel (sp?). What a family!
So much for free will huh? I mean she could spend most of her spare time scuba diving, skydiving, hang gliding, or even learning how to drive a race car in one of those celebrity series. Why drugs and alcohol, given all the other alternatives?
Her father is on the morning shows whining about how the system failed her. I find that appalling. She was ordered to get treatment instead of the alternative. She lied in court saying work commitments prevented her showing up while there are photos of her partying at Caan during that same time. Now she has to do what she should do and the attorney that defended Michael Jackson and Robert Blake says the judge is making an example of her. Oh, brother.

Based on other celebrity incarcerations, I’ll be shocked if she serves more than a few days of the sentence.
Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days and served a total of 15. She’d actually been released after just 2 days, but the sentencing judge got pissed and sent her back. Even then, she served only a third of the sentence.
Hilton’s stint was harsh compared to Khloe Kardashian, who spent 3 hours in jail on a 30-day sentence, and Nicole Richie, who was sentenced to 4 days and got out after 82 minutes.
These were all driving-related cases followed by probation violations, much like Lohan’s situation.

What keeps getting overlooked in these lists of how short celebrity sentences are is that everyone’s sentence for a first time traffic offense is usually that short.
