Lindsay Lohan goes back to jail

Linky here.

I’m almost to the point to feeling sorry for her. Almost. She clearly has a substance abuse problem which she just can’t get ahold of.

And then I remember her obnoxious fingernail “f-you” message, which makes me think she deserves this.

I dunno…I’m torn.

Certainly doesn’t appear she is getting any breaks; in spite of, or maybe because of, her celebrity.

I wish authorities here in the St Louis area would come down this hard on DUI’s. Seems like we hear of a drunken driver killing someone after getting multiple DWI’s quite often.

Not a single shred of sympathy from me. Let her rot.

Me either. Take responsibility for your actions or pay the consequences. Nobody owes you shit.

She was out of jail? I’ve lost track. And I wish the media would too.

To me, it seems when it suits her, she sure knows how to play the “I am ill; addiction is an insidious disease and I only need treatment and sympathy, not the responsibility for my illegal actions” card, then when the heat is off it’s always “I am a just normal 25 year old, of course I can go out drinking with my friends for weeks at a time if I want to”…

(OK, I admit she dosent really know what “insidious” means, but you get my point)

I don’t buy that. If it were you or me, we would have been in jail a while now, and would still be there long after shes out and fucking up again.

Justice don’t apply to the rich and famous.

This is just the first step. She’s in custody until the next hearing Oct 22. He may formally sentence her then.

This is gone beyond party girl behavior. Lindsay obviously has a very serious addiction. It’s going to kill her eventually unless she seeks help.

I also seem to remember that I read that back when she was initially arrested in this case, (for DUI and cocaine possession) she told the cops that A) She wasn’t driving, one of her passengers was and B) The pants she was wearing (where the cocaine was found) were not hers, instead they were a friends and she had just borrowed them.

In other words, she tried to lie and throw two different members of her posse under the bus to avoid responsibility for her own actions.

Not too much sympathy here…

I don’t think it makes a whit of difference to the smirking asshole. She’ll sit there a few days in her jail cell knowing the whole world is focussed on HER (what problem???), and when she gets out People magazine will give her (someday) a monstrously big fat check for sharing her vacuous thoughts. And I don’t know why everyone is so worried over her health, that kind is going to outlive all of us.

I feel bad for her, like I would any addict.

I don’t see her as criminal in nature but a person who cannot control their bad behaviour.

I don’t see how putting her or anyone else, famous or not, in jail helps.

They need to punished, oh to be sure of that, but there are lots of ways of punishing people.

Make her do outbound cold calling as a telemarketer

I hope she can find some help in jail, maybe being there will keep her from OD’ing and put her on a path to sobriety. Certainly someone with her means and fame has the ability to get help.

Too often people want help but don’t know where to start.

As I said, she and others with similar problems, need to be accountable but I think it’s better served through forced community service. Let her pick up trash in the parks or on highways for the next two years, EVERYDAY.

or receive them.

with no way to hang up.

Wasn’t in exactly this same situation about a few months ago, and the judge let her out after about a week, after she was sentenced/remanded/whatever for 90 days, something like that? If I’m even close to correct, she’s getting HUGE breaks.

I don’t care either way about what happens to her, since I don’t know her, and don’t remember a blamed movie she’s been in, but, I keep hearing of her in the news, and if I have been hearing correctly about her, society is safer with her in jail, rather than on the street in a motor vehicle.

Best wishes,
hh

Amen to this and with emphasis too. Get in the jail, you spoiled stupid brat.

Think of it as evolution in action.

Seems like a bit of schadenfreude going on in this thread. It is unfortunate when anyone’s behavior leads to incarceration.

I’m not sure: Non-violent convicts in California generally serve only a tiny fraction of the time they are sentenced nowadays, because of the extreme overcrowding in jails in this state.

I don’t have much sympathy for her. Not sure why she was driving in the first place. Were I a celebrity in SoCal. I would never get behind the wheel. Too much traffic and too many pappazzi.

But from where I sit here in the Land of InBev-AnheuserBusch, drunk drivers in the St Louis bi-state area of Missouri and Illinois have been getting off way too easy.

I have no problem sending drunk drivers to jail. I am happy to see drunk drivers prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in California, and in your area, too.

Just a little surprised with the Go to Jail, Do not pass Go, Do Not Collect $200.

Looks like she just got another LA celebrity justice break—her lawyer successfully appealed the judges decision, and the appellate judge has agreed to set her loose on $300,000 bail, so she can make last call at the Grove…

Goddamnit.
