It was interesting just how much a woman’'s tears can upset me. Lohan’s crying plea before sentencing made me really uncomfortable.
It’s likely she’ll only serve 25 days of the sentence, according to TMZ.
It is a shame, I still think she’s a good actress and an okay pop singer and it sucks to see her so messed up. I’m guessing this means her third album won’t be out anytime soon, although it has been “coming soon” for about four years now.
I keep forgetting to make my list for the annual Dead Pool. She’d be worth a lot of points.
I think you probably missed the boat with that one, this sentence is for something that happened years ago and she’s a lot more stable now than she was then. I’d be extremely surprised were she to suddenly die now.
Maybe I’m a heartless female, but I can’t feel sorry for her, tears or not. She had every chance and just blew it off.
I’m not a big LL fan and I don’t think I’ve seen her in any movies, but I was not particularly moved by her tears.
It sounded like a lot of excuses to me.
She said she missed some of the classes/therapy because she had to work and take care of herself. Well, duh, who doesn’t.
She said that no one told her she had to actually attend weekly meetings on a weekly basis, but she somehow understood that she could attend a couple of meeting a one week and then skip a week or so. That seems unlikely to me.
She also said that she appreciated that they (whoever they are) worked with her and her unusual schedule, but it sounds like she just attempted to game the scheduled meetings using her privileged position.
If meeting the court’s requirements were important to her, she would have done it. Maybe she will next time.
'Bout damn time. I don’t feel sorry for her at all. I’ve done my own share of screwing up when I was younger, and I didn’t get near the leeway she’s had.
It’ll be nice having a 90 day vacation from seeing her in the news. (I can only hope it’s the full 90 days!)
The rich and famous have to be slapped really hard before they realize they are subject to the same laws as the rest of us.
And that’s because they usually aren’t subjected to the same laws as the rest of us.
That 23 year old looks like she’s 40, easily. Some website had a slideshow of pictures of her starting from when she was about 10. It was SHOCKING to see her go from a very pretty girl around the time of Mean Girls to someone who looks at least a decade older than she should and strung out as hell.
I hope she gets some help.
Same here. Why should she get special treatment? Screw her and the horse she rode in on.
Well said—Her sense of entitlement is obviously out of control even by Hollywood standards.
I would expect that she fakes a medical issue before she is to report for her sentence, delaying the inevitable until the bitter end…
If it was me, I think I would have asked to start the jail term today, to face the music ASAP, instead of having a couple of weeks to psych myself out over an impending unpleasant reality.
adding insult to injury, on the way into the courthouse, she was served papers for stealing (or failing to pay for) $17k worth of clothing at a Beverly Hills boutique (cite)
no sympathy for her at all… she is a liar, a thief, and an entitled narcissistic brat…
How are you qualified to make an assertion such as this? Maybe she’s less of a train wreck, but she’s still quite the f@&$ up.
Well I’m not qualified at all (and none of us are), but you just basically said what I did, that she’s less of a train wreck, so…?
Her being a little less unstable doesn’t make her a lot more stable.
Facing one’s consequences can be very transforming. Perhaps this will help give her a teachable moment. But she’s got to want to get better for her own sake eventually, not to just get out of trouble.
I note from the article:
Judge Marsha N. Revel
One advantage of having a goodly number of women as judges and cops and such is that women who run into one typically can’t just cry or flirt their way out of things. I recall a comment I read once from a female highway patrol officer that she found it highly amusing to stop someone and find some pretty young woman primping and preening, until she finds that its a female officer and deflates.
She may appear to be less of a wreck because there aren’t tabloid reports of her not showing up on time to work, because she’s not getting hired on anything.

The rich and famous have to be slapped really hard before they realize they are subject to the same laws as the rest of us.
And that’s because they usually aren’t subjected to the same laws as the rest of us.
Got it in one.
Remember the fun of mocking Jeb Bush for his general condemnation of drug addicts and how they all ought to go straight to jail when caught, but when his ADOPTED DAUGHTER got caught … oh, a treatment center was what SHE needed!
the tabloid sites are reporting that Lindsey had “fucku” painted on her fingernail… not sure of the veracity, but it appears there are several photos with different angles of the same content… astonishing…
Wow. Just wow.
