Her Dad was on Larry King the other night, with his lawyer talking about the sentence. They were both saying they were upset to see her go to jail, because she also has a problem with prescription drugs (easing the no booze thing) and that, in jail, she will still have access to prescription drugs. So, in the end, it won’t do a bit of good. They would have preferred rehab, where she could get help.
But I agree, he’s a dirtbag of a father, the mother, not much better, that’s who failed her, her parents. I have compassion for her suffering but until she gets some consequences raining down on her, nothing is going to change. So this is a step in the right direction, in my opinion.
Meh. Parents aren’t supposed to be just and fair about their children — we let the justice system do that. Lindsay’s parents don’t seem to be very helpful, though!
Well, given her drug problems, it’s entirely likely that she has been getting stoned.
I just read that Lindsay Lohan’s mom is saying that Lindsay’s new lawyer is going to “appeal” the jail sentence—I don’t think they are real clear on the legal system and how it works, but I hope the new attorney makes sure to get their legal fees up front…
LL’s mom also seems to think that the UN Commission on Human Rights will soon intervene in the case and then I suppose the mean ol’ judge will be tried in the Hauge for crimes against humanity.
A while back, maybe in CS, there was a thread for predictions of which of today’s “It” girls would be the first to do porn to try to stretch their dying career. I don’t remember many of the predictions, I’m sure Brittney (sp?) was on the list, but Lindsay Lohan was recently making a Linda Lovelace biopic.
Small step in the right direction, Linds. Can’t wait to see what your simulated Deep Throat looks like.
When she comes out of jail/rehab, my prediction is she makes up for lost partying in a big way. Time to par-tay.

It’s easy imagining mom making excuses for Lindsay her entire life. I suspect no one ever disciplined her as a kid. Or made her act properly.
Lindsay’s outburst towards the judge is very revealing. This must be the first time anyone has ever told this brat to get her shit together and act like an adult.
Sadly its not going to work. There’s too many people around Lindsay that don’t have the courage to tell her she’s wrong. That its time to grow up. Her mom will be making excuses right up till the train wreck ends.
My point is I dont think? appealing a jail sentence is actually an option in a case such as this—What the judge hands down is what you get, like it or not…
CA. legal Dopers are free to tell me that I am way off base here, but I think since this was a probation violation, (in a case the defendant pled guilty to) she is at the judge’s mercy, and switching lawyers isn’t gonna help her get out of serving her time.
