I remember that from his “Behind the Music”.
I don’t know the name of the song, but “I wanna know what love is (I want you to show me…)” etc. is the song. Also, It’s not technically from my teen years, cuz it’s older than I am…but that’s when I discovered it.

It was slightly earlier than my teen years, but a couple months ago VH1 Classic was re-running it’s 100 Greatest Songs of the '80’s series, and I realized that I really dig New Wave. As mannered and affected as those acts were, “I Ran,” “Obsession,” “She Blinded Me With Science”-- that’s some great pop music right there. (Ooh – and “Pop Music,” too!)
I was a teen in the 1980’s and was a fan of all the heavy metal acts then, and the big hair bands.
Dokken, Metallica, Ozzy, Black Sabbath…I pretty much liked it all. I only like some of it now, mostly Black Sabbath and very old Metallica, but I rarely listen to it unless I’ve been drinking or something, just for nostalgia’s sake.
Somehow when people talk about bad music from back in the day, they always seem to forget about all that New Jack R&B and dance from the late 80s / early 90s.
