Shiver Me Timbers! A Pirate MMP

The big question is how much will Ian affect out plans. That all depends on how close to I-95 the path comes, but we figure we’ll be able to leave by Sat. I booked a room in Lumberton for Friday night, but I can move it to Thurs if we wrap up early. So in 2 weeks, I’ll be back home again.

Moving along…

Had to work today. Was supposed to be easy: fly to Texas and ride back. Tomorrow I have to get up early to drive to the same airport for a corporate training event. Oh joy.

Of course nothing goes as planned and my ride back to MIA is bigtime late. I’m typing while riding on it right now (ain’t the 21st Century grand?) and I’ll be getting back to the airport too late to drive the hour home, sleep a decent amount and drive back in Mon morning traffic.

So instead I reserved a local budget hotel near the airport and will spend the night away from home on my nickel. Ouch. New wife is understanding, but disappointed. This was, after all, going to be night 4 in our new place and some parts of the bed still need breaking in.

Compared to eye surgery or am impending hurricane, this is very small beer.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated via livestream, slothed, napped, day drank, cooked and et sup, cleanded up the kitchen, and I hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Plus, leftovers for tomorrow’s sup. All is well.

Evening all. Pedaled about 500 calories off and then went to the Metro Diner and put them all back on with interest with meatloaf and french fries. That, watching some tackleball, and solving the Sunday puzzles took up the balance of the day. Have made my weekly to-do list up, still have to fill-in the menu parts, only sure one is Jersey Mike’s tomorrow.

Pilot, new wife may be understanding but I bet she wants some overtime soon…(wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

FCM, hope things continue to work out as planned.

OK, that’s all folks…catch you on the next MMP.

Happy Sunday!

Quiet, and not so chilly at the park this morning.
Only five people and six dogs. No Barky and all the dogs there this morning were the same dogs at Urban’s yesterday. I think they are still worn out.
We left just as the rain started.

We didn’t go to the armpit today. No sense in moving furniture in the rain, and NIece2 had a root canal yesterday and wasn’t feeling up to company.
That’s been rescheduled for next weekend.

I’ve got my blood test scheduled for Wednesday, that is way overdue.
Next Moonday, the 3rd, my son takes the written test for his learners at 9, and I see the doctor at 2. There should be no conflict, even if we have to sit there for 2.5 hours like we did last time.

MetalMouse, I think compared to FCM and Taters, my life is downright easy. They make me tired reading what they do.

We’ve had several thunder boomers today.
I slept through them. It doesn’t take much for me to fall asleep anymore.
That said, I got enough done this week to make me feel like I have my head above water.
I still have a lot to do, though.

I got all the plants inside, and everybody is watered except for the air plant. Now I have to find a home for them. The table by the living room window is full. I think the rest will go upstairs to my bedroom. My son will have to get the trays and saucers out of the cabinet for me, I don’t do step ladders anymore. He can carry the heavy ones upstairs for me too.
As much as he bitches at me for getting so many plants, he takes better care of them than I do.
I’m thinking of getting a few spider plants as they are supposed to be the best at purifying the air.

JtC, thank you for the offer of some home cooked food. I have been living on too much popcorn and fast food. I kind of cooked today. Frozen stuffed shells with marinara from a jar.
Actually, pretty good. My son chowed down on it.
Whenever I see this woman make cheese, I think of you. I think though, the health inspectors may be horrified by her ‘kitchen’.
Honestly though, I think a lot of people would pay money to go there to eat her food.
Here is her lasagna recipe.
I could never cram into a phone booth, just thinking about it makes it hard to breathe.

Good Luck with everything FCM
I don’t envy what you are going through.

I hope all goes well with your eye, Nellie
I’m pretty sure my mother hasn’t hidden money around the house. She always had a little stash hidden somewhere, but everybody always knew where it was.
How many accounts she has though… I guess sooner or later they will turn up on an unclaimed property list.
I thought she was more organized.

I think I am going to take one more day off. I have some phone calls to make that have to be made on business days.
I wish I had a secretary to make calls for me. Dealing with people makes me tired.

Who’s chair? Seriously, shoe, I thought you knew better than that.

I understand. May the entire saga go better than expected and cost less than anticipated.

Allergies are horrible. Remember to put lotion on your nose so it doesn’t get red and sore from the constant wiping. You do have an image to uphold afterall!

Confused, I thought you were off every day…

Thank you for the encouragement, so far it seems to be coming out fairly well. I’m concerned about the shelf life, so I’m not going to sell this batch, I have people to eat my mistakes!

I’m so glad you had great dreams. Laughing about the grading, I started grading homework when I was around 10 and continued doing it until I joined the service. I started grading math and spelling which was hysterical now that I think about it. Of course, I just used her key, I didn’t need to actually know the answer myself.

Mom always said I was a creative speller. She worked so hard with me that the one time I got an A in spelling, Mom had my report card framed and hung it up in the living room. It was many years before I realized that she was celebrating her victory, not my success.

What a lovely pastoral video, thank you. I’d guess you are right that the health inspectors would faint, but I’d eat that cheese.

I’m glad you got some stuff done, I’ll bet you aren’t feeling so frantic now. Your dinner involved pans and the stove, it was home cooked!

I was MUCH younger and stoopider back then. I don’t think we got 17 people into the phone booth, the kid who was supposed to be counting got distracted. Back then, Crown Vics had a HUGE back seat and the 17 kids who did manage to get in weren’t really that smooshed.

Considering the kid I was, Mom deserves all the pampering I can give her. Did you ever hear of a kid getting her head stuck between the bars at a bank? Ummm, yeah, that was me. One day I tied a towel around my neck for a cape and tried to learn how to fly like superman. Mom wasn’t very worried about me because I was busy running and jumping around in the back yard until she heard my feets scampering across the roof so I could get superman speed and altitude to be able to fly. (I climbed a tree so I could get to the top of our 6 foot fence and used that to get to the roof. I had it all figured out, it shoulda worked!)

Have you done them in your air fryer yet? Yummy!

Howdy everyone. Another week in the books.

Sari whew. Tired just reading all that. Same for Mooommm.

Hope you feel better soonish Bear.

Still keeping an eye on Ian. I had to stop watching it nonstop as they just don’t know yet. It’s 450 miles wide so affects will be felt no matter where it makes landfall except maybe Pensacola. I ordered a cheap rain gauge that will come tomorrow.

Kids cooked supper and it was Fried chicken, mashed taters, creamed corn and collard greens. A nice big Sunday dinner.

Stay happy and healthy everyone.

I started a new thread here: Here’s hoping everyone’s Moanday goes well.
