Yeah. I’m sure you’re right. Although I seem to remember being told that the one was allegedly based on the other, which was supposed to have been based on something British, as is usually the case.
Happy Birthday Nellie Is it today? Also yay Nellie on the lens. I too think you should have a spare or two.
Today is my BD. Bah humbug.
I did lots of gardening until I couldn’t take the heat. Today’s high was 87F with a heat index of 97F. Will it ever cool off?
Kids wanted to take me out to supper but I opted to dine in. They are cooking salmon, green beans and I don’t know what else. Maybe a caprese salad using the basil out of the yard. And a homemade, from scratch, chocolate cake. I have now retreated to the bedroom for a nap.
Yay**FCM ** on reason prevailing re **FC in-laws **.
Everyone stay happy, safe and healthy.

Today is my BD. Bah humbug.
I’m no Swampy but …
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOUUUUUU!!!
Thank you Shoe Getting old ain’t for sissies.
Happy B-Day, Butters!! And know what you mean about getting older. Just finishing pedaling nowhere at the gym and that’s another shirt for the laundry–I do sweat a bit.
Nettie, glad you recovered your wallet; I have a bad habit when I’m getting something from the car (like at Mickey D’s) I put my billfold in the center console where the drinks are supposed to go, then wonder where it is when I’m ready to go again.
OK, need to get start preparing for 8-9 year old soccer–maybe by taking a nap first…
Take care all.
You’re all so sweet for sending the birthday wishes! Thank you! And none of them are belated: my birthday is TODAY! I distributed cookies this morning, which was fun. I also treated myself to breakfast out. I usually skip breakfast, but it seemed like a good idea. I’m glad I went, but I won’t do it again. I’d forgotten how huge portions are. I didn’t even make it through half an omelette. II opened cards (gifts later) and have been getting cals and texts. I feel loved, and I’m very grateful I’m on this earth…and can see more of it.
The lens I just got is the replacement for the spare that was all wonky. I told M. yesterday that I’d be calling in 2-3 weeks to order another spare. This time, when it eventually arrives, I’ll try it on immediately. I always baby my lenses, which is how they last a few months longer than their life expectancy.
I’m about to leave for a walk. I don’t know where. “I guess my feet know where they want me to go.”

Today is my BD.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
So nice we share a Got Borned Day! You have nice kids, and dinner plans sound delish!
Nettie, glad you got the wallet back , and yay for honest people! I hope you don’t get horrible side effects from the flu shot . You’ve h ad enough crud lately. True confession: I live a few blocks from a Big Lots but have never been.
oops–phone.

I have a bad habit when I’m getting something from the car (like at Mickey D’s) I put my billfold in the center console where the drinks are supposed to go, then wonder where it is when I’m ready to go again.
Not a good habit, especially if the wallet is visible through a window. When I worked at a bank call center, that was a very common reason for someone to need to cancel a card and get a new one, having someone break into their car. Please be careful with that (getting car windows replaced is a pain too).

I hope you don’t get horrible side effects from the flu shot
I always spend at least a couple of days feeling about like I have the flu when I get that shot. Nice nurse assured me it won’t be as bad as Shingrix was.
Happy birthdays all around!
The majority of deliveries I’m expecting are here, including the new tablet, two pairs of sneakers, and the elastic laces I intend to install in them (which converts them to slipons). DH’s Sqwincher and a small Amazon item are still showing as “out for delivery”.

Am now home to have my flu shot side effects in relative peace.
I hope the side effects are short and mild, if they exist at all.

Although I seem to remember being told that the one was allegedly based on the other, which was supposed to have been based on something British, as is usually the case.
Nope. There’s a British version of The Office, and a US version. The movie is not related and is very different. As you can tell, we think you should watch the movie.

Today is my BD.
Happy Birthday!!!*
Come and play with us! We miss you.

Sqwincher
??
@Sunny_Daze, it’s pretty much an industrial version of Gatorade. IMO, tastes better, too. DH likes that he can get it in cute little powder packets that are easier to transport than ready-made. It got here since my last post, too. Liking how many deliveries are getting knocked out today so I don’t have to worry about them tomorrow.
Howdy Y’all! Took care of some yahd irk then caught up on sloth, nappage, and general overall uselessness. We got hongry, so we swiped The General’s sup around four o’clock. Chillage now resumes.
Nettie glad you found your wallet.
And now this…
< AHEM > CLEARIN’ THROAT < AHEM >
HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

HAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRRTTTHHHDDDAAAYYY TOOOOOO YOUUUUUU!!!

I need a pedometer
How about a paedometer we could use on politicians to see if they ‘protest too much’?
Oh… HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUTTERS!
Light rain. I’m sooo glad! I rushed out back and set the porch umbrellas and woven plastic floor covers where the rain can wash off at least a superficial layer of ash. It’s unlikely to help my car much, but it’s in the driveway getting sprinkled on as well. I’ll take it to a car wash after the wind stops shifting over to blowing from the east over the wildfires.

If the ash sits too long it can damage the paint. If you’ve got a lot, you should run it through a car wash.
Cacio e pepe for dinner tonight. Had to use macaroni, as I couldn’t find any spaghetti. We were going to make apple pies today, but never got around to it. The wife’s energy seems to be at an all-time low, for some reason. Hopefully she’ll perk up. Mine isn’t exactly at peak, either.
Think we’ll watch the latest Bond movie tonight. It’s on Amazon Prime, so why not.
It hit the high 80s today, but tomorrow will be in the 60s and the whole week will be in the 50s-60s. Big low system coming through.
Yay on the contact nellie!
Happy birthday nellie and butters!
Add me to the queue of folks who have bought tires at Discount Tire flyboy. I’ll likely swing through our first cold day this fall to have them aired up.
seanette, I’m on my second Samsung tablet. I get along well with them and the first one lasted almost 10 years.
Irk was irksome. Our start up second shift in my department did the receiving on the phones that I worked on today. They put the labels in the wrong places on the bags, so I had to peel them off and reposition them. I did way less than I usually do. So did the folks who had to reposition the second label. Oy!
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Happy birthday, nelliebly and Buttercup_Smith!!
I’ve been a registered voter for 33 years (in two states) and have never had jury duty. I got the notice once, but didn’t have to show up. I wouldn’t mind it at all. I like to think I’d be a good juror, if given the opportunity. I actually think I’d be a good foreperson, but if my jurisdiction is one where the jurors vote on that it’s not likely to happen (due to being a female with a baby face).
Today my 14-year-old doggy had a physical therapy session for her mild arthritis, and they did acupuncture for the first time. I’m fairly skeptical about that treatment, but ultimately I decided to let them try it. If it doesn’t help I’ll be out several hundred dollars for nothing, but if it helps it’ll be pain relief without medication. Which is hard to beat. The things I do for my girl… Right now she’s sleeping it off, and I’m about to go decide what to have for dinner.

IT FITS! AND I CAN SEE!!!
!
!

Had no idea that the Jennifer Anniston movie is called „Office Space“
It’s the Ron Livingston movie, thankyouverymuch.
They all just left - thank goodness for quiet! That’s all I’ve got for now. I need chillage.

they did acupuncture for the first time. I’m fairly skeptical about that treatment,
For what it’s worth … I’m highly skeptical of the “qi” and whatnot claims around acupuncture …
… that being said, I went out of desperation (I have a bad shoulder) years ago. It HELPED so much; I was truly astonished. Guaranteed, no placebo effect - I genuinely didn’t expect it to do a damn thing.
The effects were temporary - maybe a week or two - but holy canoli, the pain relief was such a blessing.
