You know what? I think if you search through the voting records, you’ll find that Alexander Graham Bell and Elvis Presley voted for Obama. Does this mean he’s not the president?
You’re being purposefully obtuse and seizing on minutiae. Who cares if one of the 700 is a crackpot? Or 10?
Is this the extent of your debating skills? You really have that tenuous a grasp, eh?
My point was this: the number of skeptics is growing.
Have you disproven it? Can you?
So far you’ve given the problem a wide berth but leapt head-first into a reductionist tangent. I refuse to follow.
I’d like it if you had an actual credible source instead of Rupert Murdoch’s lapdog, yes.
Because I’m sick of butting my head into a brick wall. Fortunately, GIGOBuster seems to enjoy it.
Clean coal and non-superhot fusion do not exist now, and oil shales are very expensive. None of them can fulfill our power needs at any point in the next fifteen years or so. On the other hand, progress is being made in solar energy, with panels being made more cheaply and designed to convert more sunlight into usable electricity every year.
Nah, the fact is that in previous discussions it was found that very few were climate scientists.
So, yes, you are clueless regarding the state of affairs in Climate Science.
You posted as a cite an opinion piece of the WSJ. It is you who demonstrated that you are grasping at straws.
Yes, history shows that many scientists objected to AGW because they saw very little evidence that CO2 was a problem. Evidence later appeared that showed that man made CO2 was a problem and now there are less skeptics.
You should see our brand new 5 kilowatt pipe dream. It sits on the roof soaking up the Florida sun. Our new pipe dream elimated our electric bill, increased the value of our home dramatically, and you got to pay for half of it. Thanks! I can’t wait to add another 5 kw worth of pipe dream, at your expense. Thank you for helping me move closer to getting “off the grid” with my pipe dream.
We actually have a thread for that here in the Pit (Hannity’s deception was mentioned prior to this thread being started), though ususally one has to be more than a random wingnut douchebag posting on a message board to qualify. Though I had been mulling over including the numerous wingnut douchebags on Free Republic who delighted in calling 11-year old Malia Obama “ghetto street trash/whore” (among other things) so exceptions might be made. But generally, no. BugMeNot2 (laughing at that “2”) doesn’t qualify. Yet. While it’s an interesting experience to watch Republican Dodo birds in their extinction throes, he’s just too trivially stupid to care about.
Again let me reiterate that being called “stupid” by someone I hardly know exists - yet already suspect is of barely-above-average intellect - is quite humorous.
Despite your superior, derogatory tone, Equipoise…you’re no threat to me, my friend.
Unlike you, I have never claimed above-average intelligence. IQ isn’t everything. One could have an IQ of 50, and still have a good, kind heart. One could be the smartest person in the room, and still be a cold, ignorant douchebag.
Never thought I was, never wanted to be. Your words speak for themselves.
McCain, is that you? Hey, when’d you let your principles get mangled by the wingnuts? What were you thinking in allowing Palin to be chosen for you? You didn’t really want to win the presidency, did you?
The former is still up for debate, but you don’t qualify for the latter. People with good, kind hearts don’t call others “stupid” without provocation. Had we even spoken before that insult?
Bug is parroting the ACORN conspiracy theorists that conflate fraudulent registrations with actual votes. He must have skipped that high school civics class that taught how voting works.
If anybody at CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or CNN did something like this to Bush, Cheney, Palin, et al, scumbags on the right, probably including Starving Artist, would be SHRIEKING for their heads. And any of those organizations would probably force out someone who did this.
If Fox had a shred of integrity they would force Hannity to apologize. I won’t hold my breath.
Gosh, you’ve only been here for 2 days, but you seem to feel we have a need for another wingnut spouting mindless right-wing talking points, so I was getting a head start.
Just out of curiousity, what’s your position on President Obama’s birthplace/certificate?
Edit because I forgot to add that, yes, people with good, kind hearts can call others stupid, if they’re calling someone stupid who is, in fact, stupid. Good and kind does not have to equal being PC toward wingnuts.
It’s that famous Republican hypocrisy at work. They can do anything they want, but if a Democrat tried the same thing, hooboy what a stink would be made. I’m still shaking my head over Pete ‘We could learn a lot from the Taliban!’ Sessions. Imagine, if you will, a Democratic politician saying such a thing. The loud, continuous outrage would be heard (over and over and over and over and over and over and over and fucking over again) all the way to Mars. Whoever said it would be drummed out of Congress. But because a Republican Rep said it, the Democrats just rolled their eyes and said “what an ass” then forgot about it, the Republicans ignored it, the mainstream media ignored or buried it, the right-wingers and media ignored it and probably privately agreed. Sessions is still around, still being stupid, and has not suffered one bit for having said such a shocking and traitorous thing.
Or perhaps I should wear my whoosh proof goggles. In my defense, there is so much weapons-grade stupidity flying around this thread, it was hard to parse out such fine irony. In other words, the stupid got in my eyes.
