I don’t know anyone who expected Obama to receive “sweetness and light” from his political opponents; in fact, I fully expected the lies, character assassination attempts, and all-around horseshit-flinging from the campaign to blend seamlessly into further lies, character assassination attempts, and all-around horseshit-flinging aimed at preventing Obama’s re-election.
So far I’ve been neither surprised nor disappointed. I may have lacked sufficient imagination to visualize the depths to which the right would sink in pursuit of their goal, but instinctively I expect a barrel to have a bottom, somewhere, eventually…

It’s funny that you should say this. Before the election, I said that I kinda hoped that Obama wouldn’t win- because I knew that, no matter how his Presidency turned out, you and yours would lambaste him for everything you could make up. And you know what? You haven’t disappointed.

Sorry for violating the rules; I can’t keep up with them although that is not an excuse. The person I was having such a civil discussion with is one who irritates me beyond belief simply because he persists in breathing in and out, thereby using oxygen that I might one day need. I hope I haven’t violated any rules in explaining my violation of the one I did violate. I’ll try really hard to not violate any more----I don’t know where I would be at this point if not for the SDMB.
