Let me repeat: You guys are completely welcome here (and I’m happy to see some other old-timers popping in to say hi) – but this is not a thread that is separate from the board as a whole in either rules or vibe.
For those still figuring things out: discussions about the rules and their application should go in ATMB (About This Message Board); namecalling and insults should go in the Pit (The Barbecue Pit).

i wouldn’t mind seeing a separate glossary thread. I keep getting Crotch Face mixed up with Rectum Mouth and I don’t know what channel they’re on or what they sell and I don’t feel like going back 600 posts to figure it out.

I have never fully understood, nor really cared to lol, the complicated Rudolf Treacy cultural affinity. But now ya’ll got me ponderin’ it.

Someone posted along the way that JRT* said that she invented Ireland. Which is completely nonsensical, so we cannot actually put saying such a thing past our Ego Elf, in that case, either. I’ve only heard her harp on some mysterious kind of first hand family connection to Ireland, myself. But I think the important thing to remember is that she can wear an XXXXXXS top sometimes, as she will be sure to tell you, and therefore is still the Tiny Dancer ballerina of her youth. Despite visual evidence to the contrary.

I’m thirty years away from being able to apply for Social Security myself. I don’t know why everyone always assumes the majority of people who buy from the shopping channels are geriatric.
You know, it took me WEEKS to figure out what OAP meant when everybody suddenly started using it “over there”. I had always just said “vendor”.
Hmmm, so maybe I’m not old just stupid.
Or assume that the majority of us in this thread buy everything, or even anything from them. Most here are in it mostly for the “snark”. For certain values of snark, perhaps.

Hmmm…Our Shawn is on with the rich and connected Laura Slatkin of “Nest”. So Shawnie Sue No Clue suddenly knows French and is translating a few words, even though she usually seems to barely grasp basic English. Coinkydink? LOL

Is Laura Slatkin related to the Slatkin Candles guy? She looked very Muffy/Buffy/Stuffy and kept referencing how much one’s bf or husband would love the scent. Bleah. Over $100 to try a scent described on TV?? I think not.
Beauty Taint and I are working on a glossary for this thread, and we are both heavy on the QVC terms, but light on the other channels. We would appreciate it if some of you more familiar with HSN, SHOPHQ, JTV and LC could message one of us with some terms and abbreviations that are regularly used, so that we can add them to the list. Thanks guys.

Welcome refugees, I am kind of slow and only saw the mass need for you all seeking out shelter. I haven’t read through the whole thread yet, and I am not big on shopping, but I would like to ask what channel were you guys all on before your exodus?
Do you mean what shopping channel, or what message board? We watch/drive by all shopping channels. QVC, HSN etc. As for what other board we were on, I’m not going to post the name here again. If you read the thread, it has been posted. I don’t want to do anything that might start some type of “board war”.
Also how many refugees do you expect to sell, the little number on the bottom showing how many units sold is climbing or at least the ratings on the shopping channel seem impressive, almost 13,000 and climbing, well done.Damn.
