Should I accept this Google Wave invitation?

I got invited to Google Wave today by someone I’ve never met (“demi.vie has invited you to preview Google Wave!”) or at least don’t recognize the name of. I don’t remember ever asking for an invitation so it’s out-of-the-blue.

The email seems legitimate- I doubt Gmail would let Google Wave phishing spam into my inbox- but it could be very fancy phishing. I know other people here have been invited before: did your invitation come from wave-noreply@google.com?

Assuming it is all above-board, should I join up? Is Google Wave worth trying out, or should I wait until it’s out of testing?

Do you want Google Wave? If so, then accept. If not, then don’t.

It sounds legit to me.

Update: I am a complete idiot- the invite was from a friend of mine I’ve known for years. I just didn’t recognize her screen name.

(I figured that out after I accepted the invitation and saw her in my Wave contacts.)

Glad you figured it out. I forgot I have it but it looks like I have 25 invites to pass out. If anyone wants one, send me a PM. Personally, I haven’t used it because it just doesn’t seem to be something I’d need, but hey…
