The sandwiches might be OK, but I’d definitely steer clear of the sushi.
Thank you all for your input. To be clear, this is an entirely serious question minus the life coach.
The sandwich I’m considering is a saran wrapped egg salad cut diagnolly in an alluring miniature refrigerated display. The eating of the sandwich will mark the beginning of a work-related 3 hour car ride.
I’m gonna go for it!
Speedway ---- actually pretty good food.
Sheetz ---- good hotdogs; avoid the cold sandwiches and wine at all cost.
BP and everyone else ---- have you ever considered cutting off the odd body part from yourself (or a friend or nearby stranger) and eating that instead?
I used to love the roasted vegetable wraps from 7-11. They were my go-to whenever I forgot my lunch.
ETA: Back when we lived near a WaWa, we ate there at least twice a week. Don’t know if they really count as “gas station” food. I guess technically…
Have your heirs ------- I MEAN BE SURE TO report back to us.
From the gas station to where? If you’re only going to Joe’s house you probably won’t have time to eat a whole sandwich, but if you’re going to find a new life coach you might want to pack a box full.
If it’s a Wawa, absolutely.
Don’t eat it dude. Just don’t.
When I need quick calories for a job where I’m not expected to eat for several hours, I just go for it. It does the job. They are uniformly bland with bread that is far too chewy and cold (because it has to be refrigerated), but it puts food in my belly. This is for the usual plastic-wrapped sandwiches you find in the refrigerated section. No doubt there must be some gas stations out there with decent sandwiches, just like a good number of gas stations have good pizza (see: Casey’s.) ETA: Actually, come to think of it, Casey’s also has subs. I imagine they’re fine, though I’ve never tried one.
Man up and just eat it.
I don’t know what that says about me. I worked in a few gas stations but never applied at McDonald’s.
Am I really the first to notice this post-username combo?
In general, most people who have a life coach are also trying to lose weight. Gas station sandwiches can be a great catalyst for a 2-3 day weight loss boost. It’s ridiculous to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on expensive California cleanse type products, when you can achieve far better results far faster with a $2 gas station egg sandwich.
I recommend getting some “preparation H” and use it prophylactically to prevent some painful burning around the middle of Day 2.
So, as long as you have nothing important going on this week, I’d say go for it!
Stewart sandwiches, you say? I hear those are pretty good.
Someone should start a thread about them.
I can’t speak about sandwiches, but here in NM you pick your gas station based on their burritos (freshly made burritos wrapped in foil, not the frozen microwave crap). You should always buy gas station burritos. Unless there is a woman in the parking lot selling burritos out of a cooler from the back of a truck. Then you buy burritos from her.
Egg-salad followed by a three hour car ride??? I hope you’re alone. If you were riding with me, you and your egg salad would travel in the trunk!
Okay, it’s been about two hours since I finished the egg salad sandwich and, as some of you warned, it was damp and unflavorful. The expiration date listed the 15th, tomorrow, so I feel like I’m somewhere in between “all clear” and “pushing it”.
I don’t feel sick as of yet but I am hyper vigilant about shitting my pants.
What about a peanut butter and butter hard roll?
