Should I join Ec-sar?

I need advice. Quickly, I only have a few hours.
I’m debating joining Ec-sar. For those of you who don’t know, it’s Eckerd College Search And Rescue. We have a dock with boats and trained people and we actually go out and save lives. Thing is, it takes a good 12 hours a week to be in it- and I already devote around 24 hours a week to work study. Sure, Ec-sar sounds glamorous and exciting, but I’m just not sure if I have the time. I calculated in the number of hours for all my classes and work study, and discovered I’d only have about five hours a day to study and relax. And they say for every hour you spend in class, you are supposed to spend three hours studying. This Ec-sar won’t allow me the needed time. And once you join Ec-sar, you can’t quit for two years, or they will fine you $250 a semester. What do I do?

It kind of sounds like your made your decision already. You only list the bad things…if the good outweighs the bad, go for it. If not, well then don’t do it. $250/semester is a lot for poor college kids (like myself)!
