Same here, except for the digging ditches part I come home splattered with grease, icing, sesame seeds, and bits of dough adhering to unseen places. No sense showering beforehand.
There’s also no way in hell I’m going to take a shower at 2AM.

Ditto. I find showers at night extremely relaxing. But Jakeline says they tend to wake her up. Guess it varies by person. I have to wonder if it has to do with whether or not you’re a morning person. I am a true morning person; she is quite the opposite.
So my preference is to shower at night, but if I’m too lazy, I’ll do it in the morning. It’s rare that I do both, but the occasional overly-sweaty night does happen from time to time.
Morning. I only take a shower at night say from April to October, when I can get out every single evening and work up a sweat. And that’s a second shower, after I already took one in the morning.
Either way.
Usually I shower in the morning out of habit. But an evening shower allows time to linger and means I can wake up later and not have to brave the un-warmed-up house naked and I don’t have to go outside with wet hair.
Sometimes I just do a “parts that rub together” wash in the AM.
Morning is mandatory. I’ll definitely shower in the evening if I work out or run (been a while on account of lingering shin splints), but otherwise that’s fairly seldom.
I shower/bathe three or four times daily. I’m a little obsessive over it. I think it’s a bit of a crossover from working at a stinky, filthy factory, and when dealing with certain stinky oils, it sometimes felt as though the smell would never come out.
So, my answer is: both, morning and night. And often a couple times in between, though usually that’s just a relaxing soak.
Morning. It gives me a time limit for masturbating, since I have to get to work. If I showered in the evening I’d spend hours in there.
It depends. I personally have an issue with the hair styling thing; it just won’t “go” right unless it’s blow-dried from saturation. However, during allergy season, I feel much better if I wash at night and therefore spend several hours free of allergens. Also if I shower too often my skin gets all dry and itchy.
I got another alleged reason for showering in the evening: my daughter is developing seasonal allergies, and someone suggested showering when coming in for the night to get the pollen off of her skin and out of her hair. It seems to be fairly effective in minimizing her discomfort. Also, fwiw, they also reco’ed washing hands and face several times a day to keep the stuff out of her eyes as much as possible. The reco just came from acquaintances, not doctors, so take it for what it’s worth.
I usually shower in the morning. It wakes me up and I like to start the day feeling clean. Showering at night is very relaxing but I usually don’t unless I get dirty.
Some days I’ll shower when I get home from work - or if Mr Johnson decides to take me out to dinner.
When I wash my bed sheets (once a week) I always shower before bed. There’s something about clean sheets and being clean. It much more comfortable.
Morning. Wake up call and for the hair (I’m another one whose hair laughs at anything less than a full deluge) and because I sweat at night.
Also in the evening if I’ve done something to get too sweaty/dirty to sleep. I try to avoid that, since my hair takes forever to dry and I don’t like sleeping on wet hair. Also showers wake me up and make it harder to get to sleep (night owl here).
I change sheets on the weekends, when I usually shower in the evening after bike riding. Must be clean for nice, clean sheets!
Office worker - if I did manual labor, I’d probably reverse those.
Evening. Class starts at 9:00 whether I’ve had a shower or not.
Evening, after dinner, that way my hair has time to dry. I like to clean my day off before I go to bed. Plus, showers make me sleepy.
Very well. The one true way (for me, anyway) is to shower in the morning. I tend to sweat while I sleep if the temperature’s over 70 F, so an evening shower is right out.
Monday through Thursday it’s at night, Saturday and Sunday in the morning, and Fridays nothing unless I get stinky during the day. I wash my hair in the kitchen sink every week day morning. I have to get up at 4 am for work so showering at night makes more sense to me.
Usually morning, for reasons stated above. Evenings if I’ve been flying (hate the smell of airline funk on my skin, clothes and hair) or doing anything energetic (less and less likely as years go by).
Depends how dirty I am, what I’m doing and what season it is.
Usually in the winter I shower in the mornings. Warms me up and gives me an extra jolt to get moving. Summer it’s a bit of both. Mornings if I need it, but a cooler shower middle of the day/evening cools me down, gets rid of all the sweat from the hot days and gets me ready to sleep.
I used to be an evening showerer, but changed to mornings when I began working out before going to the office. Gotta shower after exercising anyway, right? So it makes sense to do it that way rather than have to take two showers a day.
I mix it up. In winter I alternate between showering at night and in the morning since it’s cold and I just don’t get as sweaty. In summer, I shower every morning.
It depends on my day. If I’m going to the gym after work, I’ll shower at night. Otherwise I shower in the morning. There are pros and cons to both. I have long hair that takes a while to air dry, but I also hate using a blowdryer. I also like to take my time and enjoy my shower, which I can’t do in the AM.
The major determining factor is what time I have to be at work. I’m not a morning person, and I’ve forgone a full-blown shower  because it was too much for me to get up a half hour earlier. In those cases, it’s in, soap and rinse, out. My current work schedule fits in perfectly with my natural sleep patterns, so I’m golden. (and clean!)
