I have two things I feel I must say at this point. First, I nearly always post drunk. In fact, I’m doing it right now.
Second, I once had a shot of Everlcear; BIG MISTAKE! I puked almost immediately, and my stomach and throat both burned for several days. So IMHO, anyone who claims to shoot Everclear is lying. I don’t think anyone here has made that claim, but nevertheless, I think anyone who does is just talking trash.
I haven’t posted drunk yet. It’s mainly because on those rare nights when I do come stumbling home in the wee hours, and I sit down to maybe surf a bit and read the boards, I’m painfully aware of how bad my typing gets. I’ve instant messaged people, or composed e-mails, while ripped, and it takes me an ungodly amount of time to peck out the words when I’m normally a pretty fast typist. So I usually just give up and go to bed, with a pitstop in self-pityville if I’m in a maudlin mood.
Your best bet is not to get drunk. I was cured the first time. Not enough fun to do it again.
I have to disagree with the two of you who have cited Homer’s ‘Monkey’ thread as a reason not to post drunk. As I have stated in another thread, that is one of the funniest things I have read. Proof that alcohol inspires genius!
Anyway, as far as the OP goes…Heineken Corporation has certainly had an influence on a few of my posts. I certainly don’t object to posting drunk.
Though I don’t know how anyone could throw down shots (or mixed drinks) of Everclear and start posting. My one experience with that stuff was unpleasant, to say the least. Can’t you shell out an extra 5 or 6 bucks for some halfway decent liquor?
Can’t say that I’ve posted drunk, but I have posted with a couple of beers in me.
What’s dangerous is e-mailing while drunk.
Omigod! I’m more coherent drunk than sober. I believe this is the biggest response I’ve ever gotten (besides the Dopefest threads). Now the thread is gonna die because I’m posting sober.

I don’t often post while drunk (heck, I don’t often post), but even more dangerous than PWI is doing eBay while drunk. I have ended up being high bidder on more worthless crap that way.

My bad…my post was mostly in response to BartMan007/Crunchy Frog. I overlooked the fact that you referred to Homer’s post as a ‘classic’ (perhaps a reason, on my part, ‘not to post slightly buzzed’?)
To be honest, there are a few phone calls I’ve made drunk which I wish could have at least been e-mails…but that’s probably just me 
I was just teasing Homer with that. I’ll use any excuse to post a link to it. I love that thread and have even opened a thread in reference to it and mentioned how I love it in tiggeril’s drunk-posting thread over in MPSIMS.
BTW, I have drank Everclear straight and it did not make me sick. Of course, I didn’t shoot it either. I kinda just took some sips from the bottle, barely able to get past the smell of it.
And here’s a safety tip kiddies - Everclear is flammable. Don’t try to play firebreather by getting a mouthfull of it and blowing it over a lit match. Although watching Darryl beat himself in the face while trying to put out his moustache that caught fire was rather entertaining.

Well, I’m not hugely sober, but I’m not hugely tipsy, either. Just had… lessee… 2-3 glasses of red and a glass of white. Feeling mellow and happy. Talking’s a bad idea, though. I just recorded the message on my business phone for tomorrow morning, and was really struck at how different my voice sounded (no, not slurred, just different – not as much timbre to it as usual. Weird.) But I can still type, and so can you. So sure, post when you’re toasted. Why not?

Well, I did win the award last year for “Poster most likely to post drunk”. But in my defence, I live in Europe, so when the boards are really busy, I’m having a few night caps and am also trying to keep up.
Yes, I have posted drunk, but it certainly isn’t a habbit. Right now, I’ve had two William Grants, and I’m feeling fine. Tell you what, lemme slam back another three, and I’ll try and post here again, OK?
