Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs.

I love Reese’s cups to begin with, but the higher peanut-butter-to-chocolate ratio (I’m talking about that delectably greasy, salty, sugary peanut glop) pushes the Eggs over the top as an irresistable guilty-pleasure treat.

Yuh huh.

The giant individual cups they sell year round come close to the eggs, but the eggs are still the best.

I had strawberry flavored Peeps one year that were delicious, but that may have been at Valentine’s.

Two years ago I found a bag of dark chocolate Cadbury mini eggs in a local grocery store. I’ve never found them again. It’s become an Easter grail quest.

I guess your local candy distributors don’t have them. They do have Dark Chocolate Mini Eggs where I live but they’re not as common as the Milk Chocolate Mini Eggs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hershey/Cadbury rations them.

If there’s no store in your area that sells them, I’d try looking on the internet. Here’s a link to where Dark Chocolate Mini Eggs are for sale on Amazon Fresh. I’d recommend acting quickly because even though Ash Wednesday has just yesterday, they’re already disappearing from the shelves.

Cadbury Mini Eggs are worse than heroin.

Step 1: Open a 12 oz. bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs.
Step 2: Reach into bag thinking if you only take two or three at a time you’ll be okay and you can make the bag last a few days.
Step 3: Return to bag several minutes later with the same self-delusional assurance.
Step 4: Repeat Step 3 until the bag is empty less than an hour later.

And that’s just the milk chocolate kind. The dark chocolate Mini Eggs combine the addictive properties of heroin and crack and multiply it times infinity. For me, the only other candy that comes close are the Mint m&m’s that are out around Christmas.

I’ve had quite a bit of success with keeping treats around by getting a SMALL serving of whatever (4 or 5 Nilla Wafers, for instance) and then putting the container up. Never, ever eat directly from the bag or box. You WILL eat too much.

I don’t eat dairy anymore, but when I did, I was a mad fiend for Cadbury Mini Eggs. I, too, would buy them in massive quantities and ration them throughout the year as best I could. I always thought I was some kind of anomaly, as all of my friends preferred the ucky creme eggs. It’s gratifying to learn that my mini-egg lust was felt by many others. I can still remember how the bag smelled. Yum.

As for the OP, it’s Cadbury Creame Eggs or nothing.

Also: You have to bite the top (the narrow end) and suck all the cream out. Then you crunch the chocolate shell.

Zitner’s Butter Krak are the absolute best Easter candy. For all right-thinking folk who have ever lived in the Delaware Valley, this isn’t a matter of debate, but a simple statement of fact. Unfortunately for the rest of you, it’s a regional item only available for a couple of months a year, and only within about a 100-mile radius of Philadelphia.

My favorites are from when I was younger, but I haven’t seen them around lately. They were large chocolate-covered eggs, made of everything from peanut butter to coconut to vanilla cream to whatever. They were flat and egg-shaped, not big egg shapes. I would slice them with a knife and eat them and omg so good.

That butter krak sounds sorta similar and now I want that too!

Cadbury mini eggs. Accept no substitutions.

Interestingly enough, my MO has always been to suck on them until the candy shell cracks, chew that, and then allow the chocolate to melt. But last year, my best friend told me about holding them in her fists until the chocolate melts inside the shell, then popping them in her mouth and cracking the shell, releasing a liquid chocolate flow.

I’m pretty sure we talked about that more extensively than we’ve ever talked about sex.

Oh, and Lynn, the trick about not eating from the bag is definitely good advice. The problem with the Mini Eggs is that you know the bag is still in the house. I think my only option is to take a handful and ask my husband to hide the bag somewhere. I only have this problem with the Mini Eggs - I normally have a lot more restraint when it comes to candy. This is why I try to only buy the little teeny bags of the evil delicious things.

Same here, and they MUST be Robin Eggs, not some no-name knock-off, because the essential thing is to be able to twirl the egg against your puckered lips so the pastel coloring comes off on them. The lavender ones are my favorite for this, with pale blue a close second.

Specifically, the blue ones that turn your tongue blue. Yummy!
