I’ve heard that argument about mine, too, and mine is somewhat similar to yours.
If it counts to me, that’s all that counts, right? :dubious:

This is the closest I can find: http://www.jewelryexpert.com/catalog/Sapphire-Engraved-Engagement-Ring-sr.htm
The only real difference is that my ring has a plain platinum band. My wedding ring is a thin plain platinum band as well. I love my engagement ring.
Here are the rings (engagement and wedding band together) that I bought for my wife last year. The center stone is an oval-cut diamond, and there are five other round stones and twenty-four baguettes total on both rings. Lotsa sparklies.
That’s what I told them.
you and I have very similar tastes.
I want the same thing, only with a sapphire in the middle.
It’s not the best pic in the world, but here it is:
Ring Pic.
Enjoy!
We got married on the spur of the moment two months ago. Decided to do it Thursday, got the license later that day, got married at the courthouse on Friday. So there wasn’t really a proposal, more just “Oh crap honey, I need health insurance now”.
I wasn’t expecting an engagement ring. I’m not a jewelry person, and definitely not a diamond person (we’re poor and I’d probably lose it anyway, plus the conflict diamond stuff, etc). But while I was at work, Mr. Mitey made us these. Unfortunately, soldered resistors aren’t that comfy, so we upgraded to silver bands. But these originals are safely stored in a little box on the bookshelf.
Here’s my mom’s ring.
The photo is poor, because I’m still using a 2.1 megapixel camera. Sorry. There’s another ‘half’ of the ring that nests into the one in the photo. My sister is supposed to send it to me, only she keeps forgetting. Mom said the ring was worth like $13,000. I have no idea if it’s worth that much. Probably that’s the retail price the jeweler charged. Anyway, it’s at least 2 kt. Maybe a tenth or so bigger. The rock looks okay, I guess. (I’m not a diamond-person and it just looks like a rock to me.) But the ring is hideous. Maybe it looks better with the other ring.
This was to be the engagement ring I would give to my fiancée when she moved out. She called off the engagement, so I just have a pretty rock with some ugly gold lying about.
Oops.
This is the one I gave my girlfr—errr, wife, nearly a year ago. She transferred it to her right hand in early October, cause we just got hitched.
I ran the jeweler ragged over the ring. I decided early that I wanted an 18 carat white gold Tiffany setting, and I sent him back to his distributor 5 or 6 times to get the right sapphire. I finally settled on a 1 carat, untreated, diamond-cut, Kanchanaburi sapphire. It’s gorgeous, if I do say so myself.
Our wedding rings are white gold double milgrained bands.
Oh that’s beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
