Shower every day?

Well, if I am pulling an all nighter I might not shower. If I get out of bed then I shower (it wakes me up, cleans my pillow hair). If I didn’t get out of bed in the morning in the first place, why bother?

I have amazingly dry skin and hair. If I showered everyday, it would be even worse. I shower every evening that I work out, which is usually 3-4 times a week. I never shampoo my hair…I only condition and rinse. No one has complained.

I shower/wash my hair every other day, and in between those days I still wash up with a cloth. But if I have gotten really sweaty or dirty, I will shower on the “off” days. I try to keep the showers short due to the drought here.
On that side note, I can’t comprehend why one of my friends spends up to 45 minutes in the shower…

Is the friend alone in the shower?

Man, I got the same thing with the shaving. Otherwise it’s like dragging a two by four across concrete. It’s no wonder you see the old movies where they put hot towels on your face. Can you imagine, paying for a shave?

You have got to be shitting me ! You have drought conditions and you know somebody that brags about taking 45 minutes? Dang ! Four minutes for me and its over. I’m big, but I don’t have that kind of real estate to clean.

I can, because I sometimes do. If I haven’t been home all day and will be out all night, I’ll often pop into a barber’s for a shave. Quite common here. About US$3 or $4.

I take 5o 10 minutes at most. I know—45 minutes is way over the top.

Sam: Yes, she is definitely alone. She does this even when we are on vacation together. She says she has to scrub all 2000 parts.
I still don’t get it.

Heh. Heheh. I use an electric razor on my face and scalp. (Yes, I shave my head, because I like the way it feels. No, I’m not going bald – 19 is a bit young for that.)

As for showering, I’m a teenage guy. 'Nuff said. (Every single day or else I’m scuzzy.)

It depends on what one has been doing. As a general rule, I shower every other day, sometimes I’ll go two or three days without…and I don’t stink :stuck_out_tongue: I’m in Florida, so yes, in the summer I take more showers, but again, it depends. It’s so hot and the bugs are so bad, I try to stay indoors in the A/C most days. I know when I need a shower. Some days I take a “sponge bath” - a quick wash-up of certain areas.
(I agree with George Carlin - to paraphrase: there are three bodily areas you need to be concerned about - armpits, genitals, and a–hole. Also, your immune system needs practice.) We have a friend who is a medical doctor and this subject came up once; he said showering every day is not necessarily a good thing. If you wash off your skin’s natural defenses all the time, you’re more likely to get sick.

Twice a day, mostly. Morning and after work. Can’t function properly without a shower to wake up. Can’t endure the grim of existance without showering after work. Such is my life.

Girlfriend showers at odd intervals. She’ll shower more often when it is with me. Otherwise, she’ll go a few days between showers.

Nightly. I sleep better when I’m fresh (the idea of smearing body dirt in my bedsheets isn’t pleasant…plus I hate resting my cheek against sticky, sweaty arms), and I like the idea that I get to wash away the day’s stress. Plus, when it’s hot there’s nothing better than a cold shower right before beddie-bye.

I used to shower every other day when I was little, but as a grown-up, I’ve found that I don’t feel clean when I skip. And whore’s baths aren’t as fun as a shower since it’s harder to rinse off. But I don’t take long showers. I’m in and out in under three minutes.

Usually I shower every 3 days and wash my hair every time. I’ll also shower and rinse off quickly if I’m too warm in the summer or if I work out.

90% of the year (ie, not the really hot parts of the year) I take a bath every single night. Sometimes I wash with soap, sometimes I just soak and rinse. I know it’s bad for me - I do have very dry skin and I get itchy - but I take baths for psychological rather than cleanliness reasons.

No one’s ever mentioned a smell, even when I can tell when I smell (and it does happen infrequently) and ask.

Every morning and anytime I’ve broken a sweat. I would take 2 a day if I had the energy but I’m usually wiped out at the end of the day.

I have to shower every morning. I have really fine, curly hair and I can’t do anything with it after sleeping on it, so it needs to be washed and dried unless I want to walk around with a bird’s nest on my head all day. Plus, dry shaving isn’t very comfortable and at the very least the pits get shaved every day. (Unless we’re camping, then everyone stinks and no one shaves.)

I take a shower before bed if I’ve been exercising or sweating.
