Do you shower every day?

Or bathe I suppose. I do not. I take a shower roughly every other day unless I did something that made me sweaty/gross or have a reason to be freshened up like a date. I do make sure I am clean on non shower days by cleaning the four key areas, as defined by George Carlin :), arm pits, rear end, crotch and teeth so I like to think I am perfectly hygienic.

So what about you? Shower or bathe everyday?

If I don’t shower daily, I feel grungy. We went on a vacation a few years back when we were only able to shower once in a week. It was awful. Even when I feel like I’m on my deathbed, I have to drag myself into the shower. And when I do sweaty physical labor, I’ll shower twice a day or more if necessary.

Twice a day! Question, though, how do you clean your crotch and rear end without a shower? Wash cloth? I guess my thinking would be if I were going to clean those areas, might as well clean the whole thing, though. But I really love showers…

Yep, pretty much the same. Every other day. Same for shaving. Shave after shower. No shower, no shave. (Hey, that last thing could be a cool Regge song!)

Upon recommendation of a dermatologist I gave up the daily bathing routine years ago for the sake of my problematic skin (for those wanting more detail about that there are a couple of epic threads about some of my issues floating around in the archives). Like the OP, I make sure key areas are cleaned, but unless I’m doing something that makes me sweaty/dirty it’s less than once a day.

I have asked people I trust, including a close friend legendary for a complete lack of tact and brutal honesty, about body odor and have been reassured that it is a non-issue.

And yes, you use a washcloth. It’s basically a whore’s bath, but not necessarily followed by sex.

Roughly 1.25 times a day.

Everyday that I work, because my work requires some hustle.
On my more sedentary weekends, I might go the whole weekend with out showering. But if I’m going out to dinner or something like that, I always make it a point to shower. It’s better to err on the side of caution and wash away any unpleasant odors emanating from your body that you may not be aware of.
And now that I’ve incorporated a work out routine before work, it looks like I’m going to be showering TWICE on work days now.

Not thrilled about that.

Twice a day. I’m genetically disposed toward sweating a lot, and I live in a hot climate. Do the math.

Why do you shower before your workout?

I shower every day. Occasionally I’ll skip a weekend Saturday if I’m not going anywhere.

I work out, then shower, and then I go to work. After work it’s another shower because I’m all sweaty again.

I work 10 hours a day loading boxes into trailers. I get quite hot, quite dusty, and quite sweaty. I definitely shower every day after work. On the 3 days I’m off I usually only shower every other day, unless I’m getting hot and sweaty.

Every other day thereabouts. Sometime’s longer if I’m feeling particularly lazy and I haven’t gone to the gym.

Every day with the exception that I’ll usually only shower on Saturday OR Sunday, but not both, if it’s just a weekend of grocery shopping and getting things done around the house.

Now that my hair is longer, I only wash it every other day.

Every morning before work or on days off before I go out and do anything. If it’s a gym day I’ll shower twice. I feel grungy and itchy if I don’t.

That’s me to a T. French bath if I’m feeling grungy in between.

Here is my problem. I don’t want to shower twice a day, at all. But I simply cannot do a workout in the morning. I don’t have the energy. I have tried and tried and tried and tried and am just not a morning person, I don’t get enough blood flowing. Besides, I’d honestly rather be sleeping.

So I take my morning shower. I have to take this because I have long thin curly hair and there is no chance of taming it if no shower, plus it makes me wake up.

In the evenings, after dinner, I then do my exercize (about an hour and a half after). To get a proper workout I need to work up some sweat, and then I can’t go to bed like this. So I need a shower! I only work out about three days a week, so I shower twice those days.

I haven’t figured out a better method. I have been taking a morning shower for 25 years, so I don’t think that habit will be broken easily. But I need to exercise and I have always exercised in the evenings.

I guess I just have to deal with it!

On the average year I shower about 360 times.

The occasional weekend day I might skip a shower, but there’s no damned way I’m coming to work without a shower.

Biology, actually.

Every day for me. I try to work out every day, and I have no sense of smell. Gotta keep things at bay…

I would think the results of this thread are directly tied to hair/hair length.

I have always had short hair, practically buzzed, and I think the results of not showering for a day or two are much less on my buzzed head than that of most women (and some men) who have long hair and can see/feel the results.

Anyone agree?

Every day + after workouts.

If it’s a day I’m just staying in the house e.g. lazy sunday, I might pass on the shower, but as said upthread, I feel pretty grungy even then.
