Showerhead: Trickle/Shutoff Feature Plus High Pressure?

Help me find a new showerhead! I’m trying to find a new one and the descriptions online are generally abyssmal. Do you have one that you love that would seem to fit what I need?

I have three immovable criteria for the new showerhead:

1.) It must have a hose/detach versus being permanently affixed in place.

2.) It must have a setting where the flow of water is reduced to a trickle or shut off completely.

3.) It must have a setting that delivers high-pressure water (suitable for shampooing really thick hair).

Beyond that, I don’t care what other bells and whistles it has or doesn’t have. So tell me about your awesome showerhead!

Does the hose/detach have to have the high pressure, because you can add a hose showerhead on to any regular stationary showerhead setup if all you need it for is, say, washing the dog or something like that.

I like to be able to detatch the showerhead for things like cleaning the shower, shaving, etc. I grew up with that kind of showerhead and anything else just seems really weird to me–like I’m in a hotel or something. So any fixed showerhead would be an absolute no-go for me–I don’t want to have some whole separate thing to futz with.

This is the sort of thing I mean by detachable, by the by. Something like this would actually have potential if they’d bother to fucking define what they mean by things like “concentrated center spray.”

I purchased a [Delta In2ition](http://www.lowes.com/pd_25670-2145-75480_4294857171+4294964697+5003699_4294937087_?productId=1173941&Ns=p_product_prd_lis_ord_nbr|0||p_product_quantity_sold|1&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl_50%2B100_4294857171%2B4294964697%2B5003699_4294937087_%3FNs%3Dp_product_prd_lis_ord_nbr|0||p_product_quantity_sold|1&facetInfo=Delta|$50 - $100) online from Lowes on Cyber Monday and picked it up in store. My wife and I love this shower. It meets all of your criteria, and is darn good-looking to boot.

I have this showerhead also and love it, However the hose fittings seem a bit fragile i tightened one by hand and it cracked, It still works without leaking but im sure not as long as i would hope

Whoa, that looks kind of awesome. You’re able to get a very high-pressure spray out of it when it’s attached to the head, or only on the handheld part when it’s detached?

A shower is not a proper shower without a Speakman Anystream… try this one… you won’t be sorry…

Both actually. You can switch between both heads, the stationary head only, or the detachable head only. All settings have very good pressure, but it’s obviously a bit higher when coming out of either the statiionary head or the detachable head only.

When they say they have massage, that’s usually the high pressure function you’re looking for for your thick hair. I’ve had the same problem.

You can also unscrew the head from the hose and remove the little flow regulator that restricts flow to 2.5 gpm. Then you get all kinds of pressure.

Not that I would ever do that; it would be bad for the environment.

No, it’s not. “Massage” is a pulsing feature; I’m looking for a hard, “solid” cone. The difference is definitely something that I, personally, notice and care about.

Ah, sorry, my mistake.

Thanks for trying, though.

One word of caution regarding the shutoff/trickle feature, we had one with such a feature and the shut off function works like a snap. the caution comes when you go back to normal - the initial water temperature coming out of the shower head was always very hot until the flow became remixed again.

Very few other bells and whistles.

“Washing the dog” is my new favorite euphemism for shower time self pleasure.

Good to know. I’ve only ever had one with a trickle setting.

Smartass.

*That’s *what the massage setting is for.

Wouldn’t that be “washing the cat”?
