I’m thinking that she is yet another weirdo, lacking any imagination, doing a copycat move just to get attention. She probably expects to be another incarcerated celebrity and have herself in the spotlight for years since some people find this sick story entertaining (sorry Caricci)
She’s no different than an assassin who’s motive for killing the famous is to be famous himself. Her victim gets to live, but carries the trama of her lunacy.

I understand the outrage expressed thus far. But many of you sound like this is the first time that you’ve heard of such a thing. Aren’t there thousands of child molesters out there? This case is no different than any of the others. Simple, she should go to jail immediately. She’s mentally ill and cannot be trusted with freedom. Her own child has been scarred for life. Get her help. Story over.

No argument here. She definitely needs to be isolated from children and be institutionalized. I’m just saying there may be a question of competence which would determine what kind of institution she needs to go to. FWIW, I personally favor life without parole for child molesters if there is no question of competence and life in a mental health facility if the person is not found competent.
In a case like this where she has a child of her own, I think she should obviously and permanently lose custody but I am not entirely sure that she shouldn’t be allowed some heavily supervised visits. It could be even more traumatic to the child simply never to see her mother again than to occasionally visit her through glass.
Ok, so it’s a wag. I considered her “actress” web entry, the “Jerry Springer” stage name. Looks like just another Whiskey Tango cry for attention. No doubt she’s a sicko but to top it off she’s a sicko that wants to be a celebrity. Granted she could be stupid enough to write love letters to an 8 year old but most pervs wouldn’t be firing off clues and evidence to be taken to homes of the parents of their victims.
