Sidekicks (Chuck Norris, J. Brandis) - unbelievable

Thanks for the updates, Argent. This so beats work.

It’s good to know someone likes it. Anyway, there are just as many posts by other people in this thread as there are by me, so it’s not like I’m just using the thread as a blog or something. In any case, “please don’t do this again” is something that should only be said by moderators, and I think anyone else doing it - if it’s unwarranted, like I believe it to be in this case - is being pretentious. What are you, my fuckin’ mom? If you don’t like this thread, you can report it to a moderator. Obviously our actual moderators didn’t have much of a problem with it because it’s been around for a few days now.

Twitter is where people “group chat” a single line at a time. It makes for stream of consciousness surrealism, as far as I can tell, and serves no useful purpose.

And I wasn’t moderating, I was expressing a fear. “Please don’t let this become a habit!”

Oh. Well I really, really really doubt that one thread about an obscure movie with 23 posts in three days is going to transform the entire nature of the board.

Never heard of Twitter. Ignorance fought. I fear the movie may remain obscure, as it can’t possibly live up to the description.

I would rather watch this movie any day than any of the slick, over produced shit that Hollywood is spurting out like a full-grown bull elk in the height of the rutting season. It’s entertaining, has comedy and drama in equal measure, deals with real life issues that kids can relate to, and it has a good message. This movie should be re released in movie theaters and garbage like The Happening should be thrown back onto the stinking garbage heap, buzzing with flies and crawling with cockroaches and rats fighting each other over the remains of M. Night Shayamalan’s internal and external organs.

Lotta ethnic movie threads of late, Argent!

I saw this movie at the theaters in high school as my friends who were along were not old enough to get into see Bugsy.

One gets an Oscar nod, this one…well…not good.

It was filmed here in Houston and financed by a local furniture store owner (the “crazy eddie” type). My middle school karate teacher is an extra in the tournament scene.

For the record, the furniture owner’s investment did not pay off.

Argent, although she has a bit of an Asian look from certain angles, the girl in the movie is Danica McKellar*. According to IMDb, she is of Scottish and Portugese descent.
BTW, I love this movie.

*: aka Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years, and still totally hot, as a Google image search will show.

Paused the movie to do what, exactly?

Oh wow… i used to looooooooooooove this movie. I also was in love with Jonathen Brandis at the time (Seaquest anyone???) I probably saw this movie a zillion times, not as much as Ladybugs, but ALMOST as much

During one of the scenes in the tournament, you can see a woman doing a form from the style I was into pretty heavy 10 years ago or so. Good times!
