Hello all-

As of today I will be stepping down as a mod.

It has been such a marvelous experience and I’ve enjoyed it very, very much. I’ve learned a lot as a moderator and it’s been a pleasure to peak behind the curtain and help contribute to this board, which has been an important part of my online life.

What can I say about this group of mods?

This is a group of people who care deeply about the board, who come together to do an amazing job- much, much better than a busy bunch of volunteers should be expected do! It’s an terrifically democratic bunch, with a diversity of opinion and world-views, who work hard to get consensus and learn from each other’s points of view.

I will miss being a mod and working with this crew. However, for personal reasons (big shifts in my life coming up this year- all good!), it’s the right time for me to step down. Maybe I’ll put my “mod hat on” another time, but for now, I’ll be stepping back.

Thanks to you all, you crazy bunch of posters! You make this a vibrant and dynamic (and about 8 degrees off normal) place.

I originally posted this on1/02/19, but then something happened that I decided to stay on a smidge longer and I moved it to moderation. It’s time now…

Very bittersweet decision, but the right one at this time.

ITD - you were open and welcoming from day 1. I’ve really enjoyed and learned from all of our conversations. You’ve been a joy to work with. We will miss you greatly and I wish you the best of luck in what is to come.

Thanks for all you’ve contributed to this board, and to my experience as a poster and moderator. It would be impossible to fully express my appreciation for all you’ve done for all of us. But please know that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being your teammate.

Thanks, all. It’s been (mostly) fun and I really did enjoy working with all you folks and the mods. Glad to know my work had a positive impact.

I was in my tower before I became a mod, and will remain in my tower after. In fact, I’m going to be a dean soon! :smiley:
