It has been an honor for me to be able to contribute a little bit to a board that has given so much to me over the last 14 years. The fact that this community has survived more than four years with me as a moderator is a real testament to its core strength, or its stubbornness—I’m not sure which. But I’m very grateful for the opportunity given, and the experience had.
That said, it’s time for me to step down. I’m dealing with a number of changes personally and professionally right now, and I no longer feel like I have the time or the mental resources available to give here. As such, today is my final day as a moderator. I really appreciate all of the comments, the compliments, and even the criticism and clashes over the years that have helped shape my views of how this board ought to be cared for by those put in charge of it. I haven’t always been right, but I have always tried to do right by you guys. Thanks for your patience with me throughout it all.
I also want to thank every single one of my fellow moderators and the administration, past and present. I wish you guys knew how hard they all work to get it right. Even when you disagree with them, please know that they’re all dedicated to doing as much good for this place as they can.
Finally, I’m not sure what my time around here will look like as a regular poster. I’ve had to greatly step back my presence here, and I think that will continue for the foreseeable future. I hope that down the road, I’ll be posting more often again.
I wish I had more than thanks to offer for the thankless tasks that you and all the other mods take on together and do so well. I’m afraid thanks will have to do.
I’ll add my sincere Thanks for taking on what must be a somewhat odious task at times. Your coherent reponses have been an inspiration to me over the time I’ve been here and I do hope you can stick around. Good Fortune in the future.
